Videos: Lance Armstrong shoots guns, poor pedestrians & more

The video round-up's got close calls between bikes and pedestrians, road rage, & riding in volcanoes...

Divisive figure Lance Armstrong teams up with divisive figure and playboy poker millionaire Dan Bilzerian to ride bikes into the desert to shoot guns. That's how we get underway in today's video round-up, and things don't get much less controversial from there.

We follow our pair of guys you love to hate with some seriously road ragey videos, as well as a close call compilation between pedestrians and cyclists.

After that we plunge into a video on how to track stand, a video that finds the perfect balance between cycle touring and beer drinking, an unbelievable ride around the rim of a volcano, and a seriously hardcore race video.

So, put down whatever work you're doing, kick back, and enjoy your Friday afternoon in front of the road.cc video round-up.

Lance Armstrong rides to the desert to shoot guns

Shoutout to Lance Armstrong for flying in to help me train for my bike ride, LA-Vegas in 48 hours for my 600k bet with Bill Perkins

Posted by Dan Bilzerian on Monday, 14 March 2016

Well, if this doesn't get your controversy gland pumping, we're not sure what will.

If you're unfamiliar with Dan Bilzerian, the multi-millionaire poker player, playboy, and naked women off of roof thrower, you're not missing out on much, apart from an Instagram account full of excess.

With such public levels of excess comes derision from all corners of course, and with derision comes publicity, which is why it's no real surprise that when Mr. Bilzerian made a $600k bet that he could ride from Los Angeles to Los Vegas in 48 hours, he got some equally controversial help in the shape of Lance Armstrong.

What do you get when you bring two blokes who people love to hate together to go out into the desert to shoot guns?

A highlights package of them cycling and shooting guns to an all-American rock and roll-riffed soundtrack, obviously.

"I'll bash your head in"

From one type of excess to another.

We've got a pair of road rage videos for you here, one from Gloucester, and another form Australia.

British road rage, as we've seen from internet sensations like Ronnie Pickering, is not the most eloquent, but by god does it make the best headlines.

This bloke here is frustrated at something, whether it's the cyclists in front of him, the busy road conditions, or some sort of trouble in his life. His method of expressing that frustration is dangerous, threatening, and bizarre.

"I usually like cyclists, but... I'm going to go to jail on a murder charge."

On to the second of our road rage videos.

We can't quite be certain whether the driver in the previous video actually hates cyclists, or whether he's simply frustrated with the circumstances he's found himself in.

The lady in this video really doesn't like cyclists, despite her saying that she usually does.

Do you need any more proof than this stunning quote here?

“Surprise, motherf*****, it’s my car door. And they wonder why they get f***ing hit.

“Don’t f***ing test me if you’re not willing to die. How you got this far in life I’ll never f***ing know.”

Close call compilation - pedestrians

From drivers being dangerous road users to a bunch of pedestrians who are putting themselves at risk.

We're not totally clued up here at road.cc on exactly how these American 'crosswalks' work. They look like zebra crossings, but if the way that this cyclist and the cars he's sharing the road with are driving is anything to go by, they don't work like zebra crossings.

The pedestrians walking in between stationary traffic don't seem like the brightest bunch in the world either.

That said, do you think the cyclist was riding as prudently as is appropriate?

How to trackstand

Last week we reported that a Sydney cyclist was fined £225 for trackstanding.

Kelly vs The Volcano: A Memorial Film

Mountain bike legend Kerry McGarry died last month. The mountain biking community was shocked to learn that the 33 year-old passed, and since then there's been an outpouring of love for the rider.

This video here was filmed just weeks before the rider died, and has now been published by CoLab Creative as a memorial film.

These stunning shots in such a dramatic environment couldn't be a better fit for a memorial to a great rider.

RIP Kerry.

Beer, bikes, and a 180 mile tour to Yosemite National Forest

3 days, 180 miles, a lot of dust, and a lot of beer. Does that sound like the perfect weekend to you?

Professional skateboarderr John Cardial and a couple of friends did exactly that earlier this year, riding to Yosemite National Forest to see some stunning sights, dring some good beer, and film this cracking touring video.

Enjoy.

I Ride for Her

From long pleasurable rides, to big, hard scary ones.

These wet, knackered, and muddy-looking folk have just finished a 200 mile ride called the Dirty Kanza.

It's brutal, the looks on their faces are enough to let you know that, but their stories drive it home. That said, there's not even a hint of regret in the faces of any of them, despite the torture they say they endured.

We'd be surprised if at least half of the bikes returning don't look like this one:

Um #yourbikehatesyou

How to trackstand:

1) Get a trucker hat and graphic tee

2) The other details will work themselves out.

I'm convinced he said 'smash' your head in, not 'bash'.

The scenery in the second road rage video with the mental girl looks like NZ, not Australia. Kiwi accent too.
