Video: Big stack at start of Belgian U23 cyclo-cross championship

Only 6 riders avoid being brought down or held up

You're at the start line of the Under 23 national championships of the country that worships cyclo-cross in the winter months. You're keen to make a good impression, perhaps get noticed by a top team. So naturally, you want to get that hole shot and be at the sharp end of the race.

Well, you and 50-odd other riders, as this video from yesterday's Belgian Men's Under-23 National Cycle-Cross Championship shows, with just six riders managing to avoid getting brought down or held up in this massive stack in the opening metres of the race.

According to Stickybottle.ie, the race was restarted, getting under way the second time round with rather less drama.
