Martyn Ashton selling Colnago C59 Disc that starred in Road Bike Party 2

Own "a tiny piece of cycling history" also ridden by Chris Akrigg and Danny MacAskill...

Martyn Ashton is selling what he describes as “a tiny piece of cycling history” – the Colnago C59 disc that was one of two bikes that he, Danny MacAskill and Chris Akrigg rode during the making of the video Road Bike Party 2, which has amassed nearly 15 million views on YouTube.

While the video was being made, an accident during a stunt display at Silverstone left Ashton paralysed from the waist down. His determination to overcome his injury has been inspirational to anyone who has followed his progress.

MacAskill and Akrigg, two of the best bike handlers in the business, were recruited to help finish off the video, riding the same bike, which Ashton is now selling for reasons he explained on his Facebook page.

He wrote: “In January I need to purchase some much needed but rather expensive rehabilitation equipment.

“So I'm looking to sell one of the two bikes used in Road Bike Party 2, ridden by Myself, Danny MacAskill & Chris Akrigg.

“A beautiful bike from a film I dearly love. I guess it's a tiny piece of cycling history too.

“If anyone is interested and has a genuine offer then please direct message me. “

How about a road.cc crowd funding campaign to buy the bike and give it back to him?

Martyn has a huge Facebook community behind him who all support him dearly... There was mention on there that he should set up a crown funding type appeal rather than sell the beautiful bike.

Martyn didn't want to take advantage of people but they insisted he did it... 1 hour in, 594 people supported him and smashed his £7000 target... There was a snip over £9,5000 last time I looked. (The total went up over £1000 in the time it took for me to write this comment!)

Martyn has been a true inspiration to many people over the years... I used to love seeing him on a bike when I was a kid and and it brings warmth to my heart seeing him in my town when he is visiting his parents here.

Martyn WILL walk again... His rehab and physio will help along the way and if you have a few quid to spare to help someone achieve their dream and get their life back on two wheels, click below:
