Witness appeal as cyclist killed in Devon

Fatal collision took plac near Ilfracombe yesterday morning

Police in Devon are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died following a collision with a car near Ilfracombe yesterday morning.

The victim, a man from the Swansea Valley in South Wales, was involved in a collision with a Skoda Citigo on Ridge Hill, Combe Martin at 7.30am, say Devon & Cornwall Police.

Paramedics treated him at the scene and he was taken to North Devon District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

A second man who was riding with him received treatment for minor injuries but was later discharged from hospital.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information about it is requested to contact police on 101, quoting log number 109 of 20/07/15.
