Mudstock comes to Bristol in April

A two-day festival of cycling hosted by the Mud Dock Cycleworks and Café in Bristol will form part of a fortnight-long series of events celebrating the bicycle in England's first Cycling City next month.

Dubbed Mudstock, the venue will provide the focal point over the weekend of 10 and 11 April for demos of all the brands stocked at Mud Dock Cycleworks, group rides, talks, a cycling quiz, and even a raffle for a £500 Trek bike. Food will also be on offer as will cider, this being the South West, of course.

The event is free and is aimed at all types and abilities of cyclists, so whether you’re a roadie, mountain biker, commuter, leisure cyclist or simply someone who enjoys watching the Tour de France from the comfort of your sofa, organisers promise that Mudstock will have something to appeal to you.

Over the weekend, discounts will be available at Mud Dock Cycleworks on clothing, bikes and accessories, and of course the café will be open complete with DJs. You can try out bikes from brands including Trek, Scott, Cannondale, Felt, Santa Cruz and Sunn, while talks will cover all aspects of cycling, whether that be pro riders talking about riding the Santa Cruz World Cup or experts and enthusiasts speaking about fitness, nutrition, women’s cycling and sportives.

Saturday 10th

11:00-16:00: Demo bikes available to ride (pre-registration/ID required)

17.00 onwards DJ in café

Sunday 11th

09:30: Group rides depart Mud Dock (approx 2hr)

The first fortnight of the month also sees the city play host to a series of bicycle-themed art exhibitions and talks called A Beautiful Machine, taking place above the Bristol Howies store from 1 April and organised in partnership with McFaul Studio.
