Sustrans seeks Cycle Rangers in Shropshire

Meeting to be held in Ludlow this coming Thursday

Anyone interested in doing their bit to promote cycling in Shropshire might be interested in a public meeting being held in Ludlow this week.

Sustrans, the national sustainable transport charity, is looking for volunteer 'cycle rangers' and, with Ludlow Cycling Support Group, is holding a meeting at Ludlow Conference centre on Thursday, March 18, at 7pm.

The open meeting will offer those interested the chance to find out more about being a ranger.

Rangers help to maintain and promote the National Cycle Network, making sure it is attractive, clean and tidy and well sign-posted for all who use it.

Shropshire co-ordinator Mike Dagley said: “Being a ranger is such a sociable, rewarding and practical role, which keeps volunteers fit and healthy, while caring for their local environment and making it a place from which everyone can get pleasure.”
