New eBook explores London's best cycle paths

Blogger selects his favourite rides across the capital

One of road.cc's favourite bloggers, Andreas Kambanis, is using his London Cyclist blogspot to promote a downloadable book featuring 25 great London cycle routes.

Andreas has put the book together with his specialist knowledge of the capital and the routes can be enjoyed by all types of riders, from the more experienced cyclist wanting long-distance challenges to the pleasure and commuter rider.

The book has easy-to-follow directions with colour maps and GPS coordinates, and there are mountain biking routes, greenways, towpaths and other paths that are a pleasure to cycle down.

“A couple of people did ask me why I went for an eBook format rather than just release it as a book,” he said. “ It's a good question and my answer is because I love my freedom. If I went with a book format I would be tied down to a publisher that would keep telling me what I want to do isn’t possible and keep changing everything. With an eBook I can release it today and I can add cool extras such as the GPS coordinates. One of the really big benefits for you if that you can print off any pages you need to take with you on your cycling instead of having to carry a bulky book.

“Finally an eBook means I’m able to send free updates. After all why should you have to pay again when a new version comes out?”

At the moment the price for the book, which can be found here, is just £4.95, but Andreas warns that it will go up, so have a shuftie now.
