Entries now open for 2010 Exmoor Beast

This year's event on Halloween - hopefully without 2009's horrific weather though...

On a day when spring finally appeared to be stirring from a long hibernation in the south of the UK, you may not want to think ahead beyond summer to the late autumn, but entries are now open for this year’s Exmoor Beast and if you want to take part, you’d better get your entry in sharpish given the popularity of sportives right now.

This year sees the fourth edition of the event, and it takes place on Sunday 31 October – an appropriate date, some might say, following last year’s shocking weather, as recounted afterwards by road.cc reader David Else.

Organisers MIG are restricting the field to 1,500 entries, and both men and women can opt for either the longer 100-mile route, or a 100-kilometre version, which works out at just over 62 miles in god old imperial units.

As in past years, event HQ will be at Butlins in Minehead, where accommodation can also be booked, and the registration fee is £27.00, whichever option you choose.

Further details of this year’s Exmoor Beast, plus a comprehensive FAQ and pictures and results of previous editions, can be found on the event website.
