ZipVit joins Cervélo Test Team

Anglo Swiss sports nutrition company teams up with Cervélo

The Cervélo Test team – the bike racing outfit that's about more than bike racing – has announced another sponsor to add its roster, UK/Swiss supplements and vitamins brand ZipVit are the latest cycle-related brand to climb aboard.

Zipvit's sponsorship of Cervélo's Test Team is part of their strategy to make an impact in the cycling nutrition market with their new Project ZV sports nutrition brand.

According to the company, “Project ZV has been developed with the specific aim of powering the team in the 2009 Tour de France and spring Classics.“ The deal will see Zipvit supply the team which now includes 2008 Tour de France winner, Carlos Sastre and top sprinter Thor Hushovd, with energy and recovery drinks, gels and supplements.

What so different about the Cervelo Test Team? Well, the main thing is that it is a team funded and supplied by Cervélo and a number of top-end bike component manufacturers – Zip, Speedily, Victoria, 3T, Fizik, Castle and Rotor Bike Components – with the aim of not just winning races but also about involving top riders in product development and technical feedback. On top of that the riders will also participate in activities with customers, making the sport more accessible to cycling fans.
