Two places left on Etape du Tour package that gets you off the bus
Hotels at start and finish do away with post-ride bus hassles

Want to ride the Etape but still haven't got a place? Then this could be for you. Andy Cook Cycling have been on to say that they have two places left on their exclusive Etape packages. It certainly sounds pretty good - there is not one, but two proper Tour legends involved, and Andy Cook certainly knows his stuff when it comes to organising holidays, training camps and events.

This one has some real Tour magic about it too, it's organised in association with Ronan Pensec with hotels at the start and finish meaning no bus transfers on the day of the event. There will be a led ride to test out bikes (and legs) after travelling too Pau and you can transfer your bike over land to the event avoiding the hassles of bringing it in by air which so often disrupts this trip for people.

Having Ronan Pensec a yellow jersey wearer in the Tour who finished 7th and 8th overall in this great race involved shouldd offer some real insight into the event and his association with ASO the Tour oganisers.

"We have a seperate reception area at the end of the event and will be staying in Laurent Fignon's hotel at the foot of the Toumalet before being transferred back to the airport the day after the event. This package is particularly aimed at those driving their own cars down and riders who want to avoid too many bus transfers" Andy Cook told us.

The trips is from Friday 16th July to Monday the 19th and costs between €770 and €850 depending on whether you want to share a room or not. To find out more visit the Ronan Pensec Travel website.

Plucked from the obscurity of his London commute back in the mid-Nineties to live in Bath and edit bike mags our man made the jump to the interweb back in 2006 as launch editor of a large cycling website somewhat confusingly named after a piece of navigational equipment. He came up with the idea for road.cc mainly to avoid being told what to do… Oh dear, issues there then. Tony tries to ride his bike every day and if he doesn't he gets grumpy, he likes carbon, but owns steel, and wants titanium. When not on his bike or eating cake Tony spends his time looking for new ways to annoy the road.cc team. He's remarkably good at it.
