Your chance to be a Fixie Inc cover star!

'Everyday heroes' wanted for the 2011 catalogue. Okay, in Germany...

It's a bit early in the year to be starting the chat about 2011 bikes but Recep from Fixie Inc dropped us a line today with an interesting proposition: who wants to star in the 2011 Fixie Inc catalogue? They may not have any bikes as yet but the boys are busy getting their branding together, and the theme is... everyday heroes. And that means you. If you want.

The Heroes 2011 shooting party is a side event to the Fixie Inc-sponsored Griefmasters 2010 bike polo tournament (see the work-unsafe poster in the gallery) that's running from 5-7 February. The party's on 6 Feb at the Crazy Wave club in Karlsruhe. "We're going to portray typical everyday heroes as a part of our 2011 catalogue campaign", Recep told us. "There'll be set ups of different themes with matching props and professional stylists, to create your idea of self-expression best. Anybody is welcome to represent themselves in a crazy, funny, stupid, serious, original, boring or whatever way; the more, the better."

Sound like your idea of a fun night out? "If you like the idea or just want to enjoy your beer and watch, come along and join the party. Resident DJ Ketch will guide you through the night.", Recep told us. Obviously Karlsruhe is a long way to go just to listen to DJ Ketch on the ones and twos, but if you're game for a bit of exhibitionism and wouldn't mind catching some bike polo along the way, well... Ryanair flights are currently eight quid each way, assuming you've got a Bank of Sodor prepaid Diner's Club executive card, or whatever it is they childishly insist you have these days to get out of the booking fee. Could work out cheaper than a curry in town and a late taxi, especially if the party goes on all night - no need for a hotel then!
