This weekend's Evans Cycles Ride It! event at Chieveley is OFF due to snow

Organisers to refund entry fees, but there's more dates for your diary...

Evans Cycles has told us that its Chieveley Ride It! Event, due to take place this weekend, has fallen victim to the weather and has had to be cancelled.

With Southern England currently resembling a scene from the movie The Day After Tomorrow – minus the marauding pack of wolves, hopefully – and more snow forecast for the weekend, news of the cancellation comes as little surprise, and Evans has said that riders who have pre-entered will be contacted and their entry fees refunded.

The decision was taken due to safety reasons, and further information can be found on the Ride It! Blog, which has full details of the year-round series of sportive and off-road rides.

The next event in the Ride It! Series is due to take place at Rochdale in Lancashire at the end of this month, and further events are scheduled throughout the year – we’ve flagged up February’s event at Sandown Park before on road.cc, if you fancy having a crack at either of those, assuming the country isn’t buried under 20 feet of snow by then.
