featuring shaving, cross bikes, Mike's Special Brew, classic steel and lots more...

In the first of a random series of articles between now and the New Year, various members of the road.cc team drag themselves away from the turkey leftovers to pick out their favourite and most memorable bits of  the vast amount of cycling news, reviews, videos and general stuff  that's appeared road.cc in 2009. First up it's out man about London town TR McGowran with his pick of the last 12 months on road.cc. Take it away TR…

Right, here are my top things featured on the site in 2009.

Jo's blog on shaving

Jo's blog again, Fabian Cancellara's awesome downhill, Stage 7 TdF 2009

The legendary Barney Fletcher's review on the tour de France 2009 - nice one Barney!

My favourite bike: the Colnago Master 55

Best launch:Tokyo Fixed, Soho
/content/blog/11616-tokyo-fixed-soho

Most inspiring: 15 year old does end-to-end on a unicycle. It's one thing riding it fixed but on one wheel is makes it a little bit more challenging still.

Top bike review: Genesis day 1, Big Dave
/content/news/10844-just-genesis-day-one-cross

Most aspiring video: Orange bikes can't jump. Big Dave on the Bath tumps

Mike's Special Brew.

Donk of the year: Leave it to the bigoted petrol head, Jeremy Clarkson
/content/news/10180-james-martins-anti-cycling-rant-draws-500-complaints

Plucked from the obscurity of his London commute back in the mid-Nineties to live in Bath and edit bike mags our man made the jump to the interweb back in 2006 as launch editor of a large cycling website somewhat confusingly named after a piece of navigational equipment. He came up with the idea for road.cc mainly to avoid being told what to do… Oh dear, issues there then. Tony tries to ride his bike every day and if he doesn't he gets grumpy, he likes carbon, but owns steel, and wants titanium. When not on his bike or eating cake Tony spends his time looking for new ways to annoy the road.cc team. He's remarkably good at it.

The Cancellara "spartacus" downhill video is not available on YouTube due to ASO claiming copyright.
