Fizik have provided their sponsored Tour de France riders with reflective saddles that are also available to buy in limited editions.
This is the Arione R3 k:ium on the bike of BMC Racing Team’s Tejay van Garderen. The main pic (above) is shot with flash, so you can get an idea of its reflectivity, the one below is without.
And here it is shot with flash in the dark (below).
This saddle, with a claimed weight of 185g, is designed for highly flexible riders. That’s what the snake symbol represents. This limited edition model is priced at £169.99.
Fizik are also producing a reflective Antares R3 (195g, £169.99) that is intended for those with medium levels of flexibility, signified by a chameleon symbol.
Each of these two saddles has a shell made from fiberglass thermoplastic composites and Microtex thigh glides.
The reflective Aliante Gamma k:ium (259g, £139.99) is for those with less flexibility, so it gets a bull symbol. It has a carbon-reinforced nylon shell.
All three saddles are available now. They packaged in a La Tour Eiffel box set with spirit level and Fizik bar tape.
Fizik provide the saddles for seven professional teams, and they're all using these saddles. You can see them on Team Sky bikes (above), for example.
This is Chris Froome's Antares (above).
