SRAM issues new statement on road hydraulic brake recall +video

Company president’s video reiterates timeline for replacements

SRAM President Stan Day has issued a brief new statement on YouTube regarding the brand’s road hydraulic brake recall and the status of model year 2015 road hydraulic brakes. The update says that the production starts, as previously promised, late this month.

“Throughout this process not only have we improved and advanced the new road technology, but we have advanced our product development and testing processes and absolutely elevated our level of expertise,” says Day.

“As promised, we’ll be back in production in late April with the new version of both hydraulic disc and rim brakesets.”

The first shipments will go to individual consumers affected by the recall who have requested to return to hydraulic braking – Day says that this amounts to nearly 90% of them – then SRAM will fulfil dealer and bike company orders.

SRAM promises more technical updates and timeline information on when product will become available over the coming weeks.
