Red Bull Hill Chasers returns to Edinburgh in April (+ video)

Ex-world champion Shanaze Reade among riders set to battle it out on The Mound

Red Bull Hill Chasers will be coming back to Edinburgh later this month, with former track and BMX world champion Shanaze Reade among the riders taking part.

Taking place on 12 April 2014, it’s the fourth edition of the multi-disciplinary event which pitches riders from mountain biking, road cycling, BMX and fixed-gear riding against one another.

It’s the second time the event has been held in the Scottish capital, although this year’s event has a new location – The Mound, which rises up from the city’s Waverley Station towards the Old Town.

The event will see 500 amateurs battle it out during the morning of 12 April to try and grab one of the 30 slots available for the evening’s racing which begins at 7pm, when they will be joined by 10 invited pros including Reade.

If you’d like to have a go yourself, you can apply to take part through the Red Bull Hill Chasers website.

Liam Moynihan of West Highland Wheelers won last year’s event – here’s the video from Charge bikes, which provided the prizes.
