BBC film GB cycle team for Sports Personality of the Year

Out on a wild and windy moor Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and co

The BBC have reunited the team GB track stars for a spot of filming ahead of the Sports Personality of the year show.

The film posted on  the Beeb website is one of those 'the making of…' behind the scenes types, (for the Team of the year category) in which we see the filming of the whizz-bang production to be broadcast on the night of the awards.

As you'd expect it is very entertaining, as you might not expect they dragged all the trackies up to a windswept northern moor – well you can't get a helicopter in a velodrome can you?

Yes, there's a helicopter, closed roads, police, hikers a cast of thousands (well tens) as the crew set about spending all that money the corporation has saved on Jonathan Ross's salary.

Most revealing bit? Ed Clancy glad to be of "that Dungeon" for the day.

One notable absentee is Team GB's most successful road rider, Nicole Cooke – maybe they had the BBC micro-light filming her on the velodrome… maybe.
