GB announce line up for UCI Track World Cup Classics

Sir Chris Hoy will be in Manchester

British Cycling today announced the squad of 19 riders that will be competing in the first round of the 2009/10 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics, taking place at the Manchester Velodrome, from October 30-November 1.

Team Sky+HD will be gearing up to take on some of the world’s best sprinters, with Sir Chris Hoy taking part in his first major international competition since his crash at the World Cup meeting in Copenhagen last season.

Team GB are also fielding a strong team with no less than six Olympic medallists on the squad, whilst double Junior World Champion Becky James, who has shown real talent this year, makes her Senior debut at the World Cup.

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup is just one of three fantastic track cycling events taking place at Manchester Velodrome this Autumn, with the National Track Championships currently on until October 24 and the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships taking place from November 6-8.
