Wow, thanks for the answer straight from the horses mouth. Important people are now hanging about these parts!
This may still be the bike for me, I'm going to put some smaller tyres on my current bike and see how it works.
Thanks again.

No problem!
The Granfondo rides smooooth, because of the carbon forks/stays and Scandium tubes. So you may find 23's are OK. I have some graet feedback about the ride quality and feel of this frameset, so it may be worth the switch. Of course the Tk is very nice too, there are many many happy Tk riders around!! Mail me direct from the site if you need more help.......

Now they claim that you can only fit a 23mm in there with 'guards, any chance you could have a look and see if a 25 would work (or preferably a 28 for the lumpy roads around here)?
If so it's just what I want.
Thanks

Hi austen,
23's are the max size for the GranFondo I'm afraid. It uses standard drop raod brakes, so there is just not enough room for larger tyres + 'guards. It's designed more as a race bike that will take 'guards than as a 'Winter trainer'.
Our racelight Tk and T can easily accomodate a 28 and full size 'guards, beacuse they use long drop brakes.
Hope this helps.
