Samox/Evans Pinnacle crank replacement - alternatives and substitutes

My Evans Pinnacle Neon 3 has just had pedal failure, stripping the thread from the LH crank. I can't find replacement parts anywhere on the net. Has anybody experienced the same problem? If so, and they've found a solution, any advice would be gratefully received. Equally, if parts are simply not available can anybody recommend a suitable replacement chainset, preferably 50T-34T?

All thanks in advance!

You have three options:

1. You can get a threaded insert fitted to your crank. This is a job for your LBS.

2. Replace the LH crank. Some specialist shops, e.g. SJS Cycles, sell these. However you are unlikely to find an exact replacement, so if you took this route you would have mismatched cranks.

3. Buy a new crankset.

It's probably worth getting advice from your LBS on this, as from a distance it is difficult to say which is your best option. If you take options 2 or 3, make sure that the crank is compatible with your current bottom bracket, as there are a number of standards.
