Tour De France - Stage 19 - Bourg-d'Oisans / Le Grand-Bornand

by backflipbedlem   July 18, 2013

So 2 more mountain stages then its to Paris!
Last chance to get some differential points against ya rivals before we stock up on sprinters!
So Rolland and Voeckler had a go on stage 18, will they again have a go on 19? but maybe spread the work load this time!
Will schleck finally deliver? lol
Will Bono rise from the ashes?
Might make one change 2day and leave myself with 5 transfers in the bank, but depends which way i go!
hmm! The fun!!!

Valverde on the attack. Could do with him getting few points for my cycling new team. Gadret off! Im my team here, overall.

Froome could face multiple attacks on a descent in the rain. Gonna be interesting.

Schleck out the back. Glad I never picked him.

Moinard and Rolland roll in after another couple of riders.
Rolland with combativity. Should have scored 40-50 I should think.

Not that great for me, just 9, 16, 17, 19, but lots of mountain points for Rolland and Nieve. Plenty will have had Navarro and De Clerq as well as Rolland...

9, 12, 16, 19 plus a lot of mountain, IM and table points. Not much between Serpa and Gadret in the end. Now, do I gamble with two transfers tomorrow or stick. Think Vichot, having crashed, will have to be dropped. Hoogerland too doesn't have it. Who will surprise tomorrow?

Happy that I got 6 riders in the break, but the final result wasn't ideal - 6,8,9,12,16,17.

I'll probably just bring Froome back in for Rolland tomorrow and resist the temptation to tinker, not expecting anything from Schleck but probably won't use up a transfer to switch him for someone equally unlikely to score. Hoping for a GC showdown at the summit tomorrow!

On a frustrating commentary note, was surprised that nobody (as far as I heard) made any comparison between Rui Costa's 2 stage wins here and Visconti's in the Giro, they do seem to forget about all previous races when the Tour is on.

Rui Costa has been impressive especially as you might have expected him to help Valverde and Quintana. Had in my roaduk team from beginning to end as he was ridiculously cheap in an expensive game, although a lot of other people did have the same idea.

I think I lead the roaduk forum now with his help.

I made a few silly transfers in the roaduk one, dropping Rui Costa halfway through has turned out to be one of them. Should be top 6 but no better. Quite a fun game though, persuaded a couple of mates to join in as its much simpler than the "proper" game!

Looks like none of the 8 people ahead of me have him so I'm quids in if he goes on a KOM roam or wins the stage!

Oh my God! You pulled it off with Rolland (!) You're now 3rd in the Overall Competition! Nice job! Smile

thanks Enrique, the guy in first also had Rolland and is 112 points ahead, too many to catch.

I've got 7 transfers now, think Rolland will go out tonight but not sure who for. Only rider near him in value is Porte but not sure he'll score many tomorrow.

You go, rcorbin! Go! You'll be like the Quintana of the Competition (!) Big Grin Go for the 2nd step of the podium... Don't trust me but I think Porte will be up there tomorrow, 6th, 7th?... Thinking

Can you imagine if you save 5 transfers for Sunday? I'll look at your team tomorrow and I'll be rooting for you! Big Grin

Your gonna axe Rolland Thinking Im keeping him, back up to 25th with a top 10 still possible with some luck needed.

I think Rolland will go again tomorrow as he needs all the points early in the stage. Will Riblon give it a crack is the question Thinking

Rolland will only win the dots if he beats Froome and Quintana on the last mountain, it's too short a stage for him to break.

Movistar will drill the peloton all day and launch Quintana to 2nd and the dots

Well, rcorbin, I was going to say consider Riblon... Maybe you can fit Serpa in? I think Rui Costa or Valverde might give it a go, it's the last day, but Costa could be beat and Valverde might work for Quintana... but the safest bet is probably Purito... Decisions, decisions... Thinking

Riblon was in today and will stay.

I've made my change now but for obvious reasons I'm not revealing who he/she is Wink

Don't think many will go for him so he's my last shot of first place!

I'm confident ill make 30-50 points on Sunday due to having 8 transfers left.

Is it double points on the last mountain then?

Because if not he will win if he takes all the others and not the last mountain.

I think Nieve will win the stage

Good stage for me: 156 and 26th on the stage is the best so far. 64th now. Gone for 7 MP/ break guys and Froome and Quintana. Need Porte to score some points for my purists to have any chance of winning the purist forum game.

Cycling News went well today, gained ground on the leader and need to gain a bit more tomorrow to have a chance on Sun as I have 2 transfers left and he doesn't. Got a guarenteed prize of some books and bits and pieces whatever happens so at least I've got something out of it all.

Lead roaduk forum game by 4 points!! 46th overall.

Need a rest after the Tour. Just play the Vuelta and nothing else.

Going to save transfers till sunday where I'll have 9 and go for the stage win......all that's left really after a shocker.

My thoughts are Talansky for the stage tomorrow.

Ive got 5 transfers for Sunday as I think its too tough to go for the win due to credits etc. I will end up with 5 sprinters, 3 id expect in the top 5 and the other 2 top 10, but beyond that its gonna be tough to predict, so good luck
