Tour de France game - Pick three Frenchmen

Hello,

Following on from the success for the Giro game I'll be running another one for the Tour starting in a couple of weeks.

The rules are unchanged:

1 - Pick three riders from the startlist who are French and ensure that your three riders cost a combined 50 credits or less.
2 - Only riders finishing the race count towards your points total.  If one of your riders abandons mid-race (even during the last stage) then their points won't count towards your total.
3 - There are no restrictions on picking more than one rider from a particular team, if you want to pick three riders from FDJ feel free.
4 - Highest combined total wins, if one or more players get the same combined score then the winner will be chosen by a coin toss/random number generator or similar impartial method
5 - Deadline for entires is 9am (BST) Saturday 29 June 2013.

Feel free to discuss riders/combinations etc but please try and make your submissions final where possible.  The rosters will likely change significantly between now and the start of the race so don't jump the gun when submitting your team!

I think that's me Dave. I've been away for a couple of weeks. I couldn't even play the CdD and TdSw.

Details are 83 Richmond Road, Cambridge, CB4 3PS

Don't mind what I win as long as it's not a mini-pump! 3

Think I'm going to give myself a few days to consider carefully...

(to put it another way, change my mind a thousand times and then pick the wrong guys 21 )

Chavanel very nearly made my final choice: a reasonable choice for the medium mountains stages in his own right with the possibility of picking up team points for the sprint stages due to the Cav connection.

In fact...d'oh!

That seems to be the key choice, a Bouhanni based sprint focused team or one for the mountains built around Voeckler, Rolland or Pinot.

Bounhanni is likely to feature in half a dozen stages and is a strong sprinter but I can't see him beating Cav/Griepel. Voeckler/Rolland/Pinot could arguably feature on more stages but to a lesser extend. Rolland/Pinot in particular may top 20 on 10 stages. Voeckler could be all or nothing...

But what of the Medium Mountains Massive...?

On the billy goats, I'd hitch my wagon to Pinot - Rolland doesn't seem to have the form, and Voeckler will 'animate' a couple a stages (possibly bagging a win) but is less likely to be as consistent a finisher.

Three separate entries sprang to mind, all revolving around Dumoulin, but unsure whether to focus on sprint, GC or KM points.

Eventually plumped for:

EDIT 24.06.13 at 11:30am (sorry, I had to tinker)

Chavanel (OPQS) 27.4 [instead of Bouhanni]
Dumoulin (ALM) 16.0
Bonnet (FDJ) 5.2 [in for Le Mevel]

In case you're unsure on how it works an example team may be

Voeckler - 33.6
Hivert - 11.0
Charteau - 5.1
Total - 49.7

If you search for Fra in the 'Find' box of fantasy game it'll throw out all the frenchmen (there are currently 39 to pick from).
