hehe for sure.
Also, not gonna go up any league tables now by sitting tight,as mentioned yesterday. sh*t or bust time....
Seeing as my team is unchanged (and you can find it if you really want) I may as well just announce:
Evans
Nibali
Uran
Santambrogio
Betancur
Majka
Pirazzi
Garzelli
Chalapud
First 6 for GC, last 3 for break points although if it's a decent sized group at the finish I could see Evans and Santambrogio contesting the sprint for red jersey points and maybe Betancur trying to jump away on the last climb to get that illusive stage win.
Staying as i am, gives me 8 transfers tomorrow. 17 looks more sprinter friendly
Evans
Nibali
Uran
Santambrogio
Betancur
Majka
Di Luca
Pellizotti
Navadauskas
Expect a small group at the finish, Di Luca, Evans Santambrogio will probably sprint it out. Also I think Navadauskas could make the finish which is why I took the risk on him over Niemiec
8 transfers... wow...
well, there you go. a perfect case study. I had exactly the same squad as you, I have swapped garzelli for di luca ( may regret that) and uran for felline ( he came 2nd behind battaglin on stage 4, the profile has similarities) . we can compare the two strategies later this afternoon! I'm minded to have those 2 for tomorrow also, so not a complete one stage gamble...
Balls out of the bath: I've got Oss, Tamouridis, Martens and J-Rod (Venezuela). Hoping for a classics-esque stage (was *this* close to picking Weening, hopefully that won't bite me in the bum).
I said I was going to be conservative with my transfers for the rest of the race... I lied .
Chasing the break again;
Duarte
Bak
Rodriguez
Pirazzi
Caruso
Chalapud
Evans
Uran
Betancur
No transfers tomorrow, then I can get my team back into shape for the MTT.
If I had have gambled today.....I was going to go Weening, Navardauskas and Sabatini.....Greenedge and Cannondale need more out of this Giro...
NIBALI
EVANS
SANTAMBROGIO
NIEMIEC
BETANCUR
PIRAZZI
PELLIZOTTI
RODRIGUEZ
MAJKA
Bak, roux, felline & mezgec in...
Yeah, been reading around, people are saying Bak, Cataldo, maybe Clement...
wow, that is way ballsier than me. Well, good luck with that! you obviously dont fancy a sprint tomorrow either then...
Surely this is THE Sammy stage?
Sanchez and Paolini in for J-Rod II and Scarponi but left plenty of GC/KOM/Youth points in the bag.
5 transfers for tomorrow
Ramunas? if so he's in the break
So is J-Rod II
so is Pirazzi
The Break then:
Danny Pate (Sky), Wilco Kelderman (Blanco), Eros Capecchi (Movistar), Jose Herrada (Movistar), Grega Bole (Vacansoleil DCM), Tobias Ludvigsson (Argos), Christian Meier (Orica GreenEDGE), Stefano Pirazzi (Bardiani), Matteo Rabottini (Vini Fantini), Jackson Rodriguez (Androni), Emanuele Sella (Androni), Jose Serpa (Lampre-Merida), Rory Sutherland (Saxo-Tinkoff), Gorka Verdugo (Euskaltel), Pieter Weening (Orica GreenEDGE) and Ramunas Navardauskas (Garmin-Sharp)
some decent powerhouses in there.....Ramunas,Wilco,Pate,Meier,Ludwig would be a decent start to a Time Trial team.
Reinforcements have come up, with Di Luca, Atapuma, Caruso & Chalapud joining the break.

Pirazzi and Chalapud in the break, I assume those two plus Rodriguez and the two Movistar riders will go after the climb (Movistar in order to maybe limit Visconti's losses in case he wants to go after the jersey).
Had considered Rodriguez and Capecchi today but with a break that big anyone could take the win.
This was my other concern with chasing the break. Unless you pick the winner or someone placing in the top 10 from a 22 man break you're not likely to score heavily on a stage like today because there are so many riders and points only being awarded to the first 6 at sprints and the cat 1 climb.
Typical i brought in Felline for Chalapud - story of my Giro
Damn, looks like I wasted 3 transfers. This might be a good time for me to put fantasy cycling on the back burner, and just enjoy watching the final week of the Giro. (I'll keep an eye on my purist team though ;)).
1st climb - Rodriguez, Pirazzi, Sella
Id like to think if this break stayed away ive got a good chance of 2 in the top 5/10 with Di Luca and Nava, but we shall see. Hopefully they may go for sprint points
At least I have 6 riders that will score something.
Maybe should have gone Pirazzi or J-Rod II but wanted to save transfers for tomorrow/thursday
not all is lost! ive got him in case it comes back, think he could contest the finish in that situation- along with evans etc...
Got 4 in the break. Pirazzi and Chalapud, Di Luca and Caruso. Was hoping for Sanchez too. If it doesn't stay away. I'm f#####!
Where is the FDJ break man.....god damn it. I took in two guys for the break today
Dominique Rollin and Thomas Dekker

Fabio Felline of Androni has jumped from the field and has a few meters' lead. Is he seriously trying to move up? No. He stopped to greet family and friends on the side of the road.
from cyclingnews live feed.
Might be his only mention of the day for you and me stumps!
Given that the break hasn't been given more than 5 minutes I can't see this sticking but I could be wrong.
If it doesn't stick then I'd expect a few attacks on the last climb (possibly Sanchez?) with a view to getting out in front and trying to stay away till the end. That means a fast and frenetic climb that might drop even the stronger sprinters.
Giving up! I was out of the top hundred this stage last year in the Tour (usually my best race). Won a stage with the prize I wanted and finished 20th.
Got 4 in the break today. They might stay away though I doubt if they will and maybe Caruso will do well as I don't think many have hiim, although he is quite high in GC. Still got Sanchez, Nibali and Evans if the break is caught and there is a downhill attack. Might leave my team alone for tomorrow as it's not a certain sprint.
In hindsight, if you wanted to stage hunt today it might have been worth picking a team of strong sprinters (Mezgec, Nizzolo etc) as they may still get their shot today. Plus, I can't see many people predicting that outcome.
If my break strategy doesn't stick that's what I'm hoping for as I've got Sanchez as well.
Gap coming down fast, not going to last till the climb at this rate unless the break get going.
