Electroluminescent paint on its way

by bikeboy76   March 22, 2013

I've just seen this wonder of science:

http://www.lumilor.com/about.html

Electroluminescent paint which can be applied to a helmet or bike frame perhaps. No more claims of night time SMIDSY or lights not bright enough. It is patent pending so no idea of the costs or availability, but it will be interesting to see if it can be used on fabric. I loath fluro yellow but would wear a winter jacket with some tron like highlights. Hopefully more colours too.

If this could be combined with some of the hydrophobic coatings being developed it would be amazing. Seems like the Kickstarter model of development is really bringing out all the innovative design ideas. Its like the future is really getting going after a bit of a slow start.

I'd rock the Tron look, for sure!

In fact, an evening chain-gang in matching kit would look seriously impressive!

Last night I would have considered trading a very loud baby for a really nice bike.
