I'm rubbish at picking the one-day races - too indecisive!
9 rider break forming, only has 25 seconds at the moment but im hoping its the one that goes as Cousin is in it
Will put the names up if the break is sustained
Right the break has more than a minute, but was nearly ruined by a level crossing
The riders are Will Clarke (Argos-Shimano), Florian Vachon ( Bretagne-Seche Environnement), Julien Fouchard and Nico Sijmens (Cofidis), Cyril Lemoine (Sojasun), Jérôme Cousin (Team Europcar), Zak Dempster (NEtApp-Endura),Gatis Smukulis (Katusha) and Preben Van Hecke (Topsport Vlaanderen)
The break has 5 mins 15 secs according to the official site...

Boom
Pozzato
Eisel
Flecha
Terpstra
GVA

My purist team is almost the same, just swap EBH for GVA. With snow being forecast for Sunday, I didn't pick anybody who's only riding KBK just in case it's cancelled.

Expecting more from Omloop than Kuurne for my purists to be honest.

So one in the break, hopefully they are away at half way.
Not to many purist teams with Cav?? You guys know that OPQS are working for Boonen today and Cav tomorrow....
Im surprised at some of the purist teams, I thought tomorrow would be easier to predict, should be a sprint in is why Cav and Hutarovich are both in my purist teams, as both are in great form and couldn't afford Greipel too, which is why I have Roelandts, although he is my tip to win today.
Im just liking the fact ive picked a breakaway member for once! (both teams) Should stay away, only about another 40km to halfway

Don't think Boonen will go for today either

Both purist teams?? How many teams do you have.....
Are there points for breakaways today??? My purist team has van hecke. What the hecke! #didntseethatonecoming
Dockx is off to lhopital. Bad break for him and lotto.

Yes 10 at half way, which the breakaway will reach
STD:
GvA
Oss
Terpstra
Klier
EBH
Thomas
Paolini
Sylvain Chavanel
Roelandts
PURE:
EBH
Thor
Belletti
Elmiger
Thomas
Stybar
GvA
Nuyens
Flecha
I must have been drunk when I did the purist team.
Haussler's listed for KBK on Cycling Fever
Although he's just gone down
Correction-Goddaert NOT Haussler has crashed
Either way Ive lost a guy
Anyway, 10 guys are clear of the Peleton that is 1.50 behind.
Chavanel, Wynants, Thomas, Bandiera, Paolini and GVA in that group
My team looks in good shape
Chavanel
Thomas
VanAvermaet all in the first 10
plus
Flecha
EBH
Ciolek
Veelers
VanMarcke
Pichot
hope this break stays the distance
my std has 5 of them I think
I believe Roelandts is there too, 2 mins with 27km to go
Egotiz Garcia of cofidis in that group too
Another OPQS rider is there too but don't know who, as well as a rider from a pro-conti team I think and thats your 10
Vandenbergh is the other OPQS rider, him and paolini havd 20 seconds on the other 8, 22km to go
I have Paolini, GVA and Roelandts up there plus my points for Cousin being in the break
3.20 back to the peloton
one of these 10 will win, peleton now over 3 mins down
So someone came to the door and I missed it
1.Paolini
2.Vandenbergh
3.Vandousselaere
4.Thomas
5.GVA
6.Bandiera
7.Chavanel
8.Roelandts
9.Wynants
10.Egotiz Garcia
so 1,5 and 8 for me for my normal team and just 5 and 8 for my purist team
1,4,5,7,8 for me + whatever from the peleton
1,4,5,7,8 for me + whatever from the peleton
I saw your team and thought Wow good race for you
Appollonio 11th I think
1, 4, 5, 8 for my standard. 4, 5, 8 for purist.
Only reason I didn't have Paolini in purist was because he's only in one race and all my riders are in both. Will bring in one sprinter, maybe two for tomorrow but not certain it will be a sprint. Glad I went for Thomas rather than EBH as a lot of people seem to have done. I think EBH is down the pecking order at Sky now. Thomas is the man for the classics.
So, I wasn't watching, following or anything the race today.
Am I right in thinking, the 9 riders I list below all get 10 points for the half way break?
Will Clarke
Florian Vachon
Julien Fouchard
Nico Sijmens
Cyril Lemoine
Jerome Cousin
Zak Dempster
Gatis Smukulis
Preben Van Hecke

Correct (unless someone knows something I don't)
I wonder how many listened to my advice and picked Smukulis like I said in the other thread, he'll have a nice 15 points, unless he came in the top 20.....

I already had Cousin, so didn't want to pick two for the break
Just to inform people, from the early results I'm getting through, at least 2 of the break away guys didn't finish the race and therefore WILL NOT be getting points.
The two so far are Will Clarke and Cyril Lemoine.
TERatcliffe26 wrote:Appollonio 11th I thinkNa he came in 141
You are looking at the same results as me, but that is nothing apart from the top 10 in the right place. Look at 19 - DNF but placed 19th.....
Even though Haussler didn't finish......
Where are you seeing the results?
I don't think EBH came 17th either
TERatcliffe26 wrote:Appollonio 11th I thinkNa he came in 141
It was Belletti in 12th
im seeeing this
11 Gerald Ciolek (Ger) MTN-Qhubeka 0:06:27
12 Manuel Belletti (Ita) Ag2R La Mondiale
13 Jean-Pierre Drucker (Lux) Accent Jobs-Wanty
14 Alexey Tsatevitch (Rus) Katusha
15 Baptiste Planckaert (Bel) Crelan-Euphony
16 Adrien Petit (Fra) Cofidis, Solutions Credits
17 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor) Sky Procycling
18 Sébastien Turgot (Fra) Team Europcar
19 Heinrich Haussler (Aus) IAM Cycling
20 Jack Bauer (NZl) Garmin-Sharp

I don't think EBH came 17th either
Where are you getting Haussler didn't finish from?
The two places I'm getting early from say this
19 Heinrich Haussler (AUS) IAM Cycling +6:27 (DNF)
19 DNF Heinrich HAUSSLER AUS IAM 29 +6:27
The two places I'm getting early from say this19 Heinrich Haussler (AUS) IAM Cycling +6:27 (DNF)
19 DNF Heinrich HAUSSLER AUS IAM 29 +6:27
I don't know then, all the results I have seen have him 19th and not DNF. In the race they got him mixed up with Goddaert and it was Goddaert the DNF
Right, I'm going on the UCI, who have just updated the Haussler finished and the DNF has gone
1 Luca PAOLINI ITA KAT 36 4:52:15 100 100

I was looking at procycling stats but i've also seen another listing where 19 isn't even on the list so very confused!!!
Ok, scores are updating now
How come no points for Cousin?
He didn't finish the race
He did, came 107th, 12 mins down
Off to look again.....Strange, he has 10 in my csv. Off to run an update again.
Then taking out all the riders
40 and 61 standard and purist, not the start to the classics that is hoped for.
Can I please take my only chance to say ...
Don't worry I'm sure I won't be in the same position again
I'm sure I just lost this comp with my transfers though.
The 2nd and 3rd are purist teams so big hat to them.
