Garmin Courses Help

Hey folks,
I've created a course for my Garmin 200. I tend to head out on a particular road, then ride a loop which comes back to that same road, which I then ride in the opposite direction until I reach home. However, for Garmin, this seems to be a combination of 'loop' and 'out-and-back' course types.

I've created the course as a loop, but when I hit the road to come home, the distance stops increasing, so my course isn't complete. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Best bet I find when riding the same road back is just plan it manually from start to finish rather than asking Garmin to out and back it for you or anything. Never had any problems doing it this way.
