Volta ao Algarve Stage 3

TERatcliffe26, February 16, 2013

So what has everyone done with there standard teams for today?

Ive made 4 changes so my team looks like this

Kwiatowski (for Cav)

Machado (for Nizzolo)

Westra (for Sanz)

Henao (fo Boeckmans)

Bos - should still get some points for the points comp

Bazzana - most likely of my 'sprinters' to hang in and maybe top 20

Edmondson

Ruis Da Costa

Martin

Abit worried about my purist team now due to a lack of points from Cav but should still be solid

Cav

Nizzolo

Bos

Martin

Machado

Da Costa

Westra

Kolobnev

Edmondson

Sitting in 10th and looking for a 3rd High Roller badge in a row so made 3 of my 4 transfers today:

DeGendt(in for Nizzolo)
Kelderman(in for Cav)
Henao(in for Boeckmans)
RuiCosta
Machado
Bos
DeMaar
Kwiatkowski
Paulinho

Then looking to bring in Westra( I seem to remember him beating Wiggins in a similar sort of uphilly TT),Martin and either Castroviejo or Dowsett for the ITT.

Unless of course Chavanel gets himself high up in GC.

Taken a risk today and made 6 transfers.

Kelderman (for Cavendish)
Atapuma (for Manuel Cardoso)
Westra (for Boeckmans)
Caruso (for Tsatevitch)
Henao for (Nizzolo)
Tiernan-Locke (for Bos)

Machado
Kwiatkowski
Ruin Faria da Costa

So in theory I have a really strong team but I have no idea how it'll play out.

Purist team is

Cavendish
Nizzolo
Bos
Martin
Boeckmans
Westra
Machado
Tiernan-Locke
Ribeiro

I was too indecisive at the beginning of this one, ended up leaving Bos out of my standard and Nizzolo out of purist, rather than picking both for both.

Std for today...
Martin
Kwiatkowski
Westra
De Gendt
Rui Costa
Machado
Nizzolo
De Maar
Kocjan

Purist could end up fairly high if I'm lucky...
Martin
Cav Sad
Westra
Boeckmans
De Maar
Machado
Marque
Kelderman
Bos

Podium badge #2 Cool

Sounds like Machado up there too, how successful I am though probably depends on JTL and Kwiatkowski.

Fingers crossed for a full house.

I'm off to check the scores.....TERatcliffe26 has won the stage on his own tour Nerd

Stewards enquiry launched into unusual betting patterns, illegal substances, non UCI approved parts.....

Thanks. Not gonna make a big difference but every little counts!

Gonna have to do a bit more research on the next couple of races I've never played before. Your practice last year on all the races obviously gave you a good idea of what to do. I did much better this year on Qatar and Oman having done them before, but I know very little about Catalyuna and Pais Basco.
