Sneaky!
Brought in Talansky and Pinotti hoping to get a high placing and GC points over the next couple of days.
My team:
Talansky
Pinotti
Feillu
Oss
Nizzolo
Clement
Roy
Pauriol
Navardauskas
Hoping for a strong score tonight then a limited amount of GC change tomorrow as it's only smaller hills.
Good luck - I had trouble with this one. Early season - first race for some who you would expect to be there in the TT - and the hill at the end? I assume they are riding their full TT rigs - anyone know?
Rob Cairns
Suprisingly strong ride from Peraud, nice to see Izagirre and Voeckler up there too.
Also, anyone pick Jungels?

I took a 70 point hit. Aiming for Full House and/or Podium badge today
Why the obsession with badges when you're high up in the overall table? I much prefer aiming for a high overall place. It might work though with the pen being only 10 points now but that climb at the end makes it all a bit unpredictable. Got Talansky, Rogers and Pinotti for this along with a few others who might do well. Last time I took penalty points it went wrong so playing safe at the moment.
My standard team is
Lofqvist
Talansky
Monfort
Mollema
LeMevel
Kreuziger
Rogers
Pellizotti
Pauriol
A matter of reacting to the GC shake-up for the rest of the TourMed.
Disappointing for Rogers!! only provisionally 10th

I get the idea of using a minor race like the Tour de Med to pick up any badges you think you can aim for rather than perhaps getting the to TdF or Vuelta and still having some to collect. In the overal scheme of things the Tour de Med isn't going to get you nearly as many points as the Grand Tours, combined they're worth at most maybe 7000 fantasy points.
Anyway, people play it how they want, last year in the TdSuisse I got hacked off and needed to blow off some steam so torpedo'd my team and made loads of penalty transfers, ended up winning a stage!
Boom takes the lead.

It was always my plan with this race because of the discrepancy but between the first two stages (although I think I've got it wrong today). I'll be playing seriously for the rest of the race.
Marco Pinotti appears to be MIA. Started at 14:07 (CET) and according to the ticker he hasn't crossed the line yet.

Its safe to say he wont lead anyway as Boom started after him
48 mins for Pinotti
Roux has gone 2nd, he is in my purist team
PINOTTI Marco BMC 48'30'' He's not going to be happy with that.
Unless my French has deteriorated it appears that Pinotti 'has not crossed the line'.....whether that means start or finish I'm not sure but he was due out just before Ramunas?
Ouch, that's a poor time, I assume he crashed? Potential for Lanterne Rouge?
From Twitter:Marco Pinotti must haved crashed at #TourMed as he is 13 minutes down at the finish
Ouch, that's a poor time, I assume he crashed? Potential for Lanterne Rouge?
Dunno about LR, he's probably HD with that time
talansky is either 3 sec behind or 3 ahead at the intermediate split
Either way he should do better than Boom on the slope of the last 3k?
Either way he should do better than Boom on the slope of the last 3k?
not sure as its only 3km and Boom is much better than people make out him to be. It will be close
Either way a 1-2 for them is good for me
Plenty of talent still to come....Roche,Mollema,Kreuziger,Lofqvist even the God of Thunder may put on a show?
Talansky provisional sixth.
1,2,4,7,8 and 17 for me with Nizzolo and Roelandts to come
Back later after work

Roche beats Larsson....impressed by that....he'll be coming in for Rogers I think.
Non-official results, I won't be updating scores until the full official results are released which is likely to be a couple of hours yet.

Hmmm, 5, 11 & 12 +5 bonus points. A totally rubbish day...
2nd,4th,11th,13th and 18th is not great....I'm bringing in the youngsters Jungels and Goncalves for Pauriol and LeMevel giving Rogers a reprieve for now
2,3,4,5,11,14. Didn't get the badges I was targeting, but I might have fluked Lantern Rouge if Pinotti isn't hors delai.
Scores are up and Pinotti has been listed as last finisher so gets the Lanterne Rouge award.
Well, your penalty point system worked quite well
I meant to put in Monfort but forgot and put in Pinotti instead who ended up with lanterne rouge, the second time I've fluked it !! I'll be glad if the whole race is cancelled as I've been crap at it so far. Could have had 1-4 incl. in the Tour of Qatar if I hadn't taken out Hut last night and got the badge you were looking for. Not my day
41 for my standard team
and 10 of those came from Pinotti. But... 138 for my purists
Really pleased with my Purist Team today - 151 points ! 8th best score of the day and top Purist for that stage
debbie g
On the bright side, Pinotti gave me my fifth badge of the day. I don't see myself having another day like that this season
5th on the stage
cant complain, had 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th
When I saw the route for today's TT I wondered how riders would cope with a flat windy 20kms followed by a steep finishing climb. Theo Bos has tweeted that Lars Boom did a cyclocross style change from his time trial bike to a road bike at the bottom of Mont St. Clair.
Clever tactics and probably what got him the win.
Very glad I had him in my fantasy team.
Lanterne Rouge Badge for Pinotti
