Feet getting beat up

I bought a fairly cheap pair of Diadora shoes last year, and they are killing the soles of my feet. Any distance over 30 miles, and my feet go numb. Would this be fairly standard of cheap shoes, and would I need shoes with a stiffer sole/more padding etc?

bike_food is indeed correct, but I would recommend seeing a sports therapist or bike fitter that can advise on this, otherwise it's just a range of different insoles and wedges without any real insight as to which one would be best for you.

Let me know if you want any more detail - there are a couple of things you can do to try and point yourself in the right direction.

Specialized do a range of footbeds that might help.
I fitted a set of the blue ones to some Northwave shoes that helped me out a lot when I had similar issues.
