Tour of Medatarian
When will this be open?
today
There's still no 'official' startlist as the tour de med website still shows a list from December but the most up to date listing seems to be here:
http://www.cyclingfever.com/editie.html?detp=view&_ap=startlijst&editie_...
worth a look before the race is opened.
The cycling fever startlist has had pretty full rosters for about 3 weeks now (unlike some races with less than a week to go)
startlist is also here http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/118118022-Tour-Mediterraneen-Cyclist...
The cycling fever start list has been changing though, I updated the start list about 10 days ago and again today and there were changes in between.
He's still technically on the start list for the race and the Vaconsoleil reserves are all riding already so we'll have to wait and see who replaces him. You never know, he's a hard man, he might ride
and where we can find the race profiles?
Amazingly I thought your purist team followed you all year
So I am out of the Tour of Qatar (purist).
and where we can find the race profiles?
Ive not seen any pictoral profiles, however the route and mountain heights etc are on the website

Yeah, I can't find any proper profiles but each of those docs tells you what climbs are included (GPM points) along with altitudes so you can get a rough idea of the days.
Unfortunately, when you drop below world tour level the amount of information available for races is pretty poor.

Man, you know it's serious when you're looking at stuff like that to try and pick a team. But well done, TERs, I couldn't even find their website.
I'm looking on Bing maps to check out the likely profiles. Should I see a doctor or just have more tequila?
Also, I'm very pleaesd to see that Tommy V has been upgraded by road.cc from AR to GC. That should be prominent amongst his palmares.
picked a team but what the hell is Greipel doing there?!? Extra leg work?
Courtesy of www.gpsvisualizer.com :- some profiles. I don't guarantee their accuracy as I had to hand draw the routes in Google maps and some the of site's map pics don't match well with the route books. Should give a rough idea though.
For anyone who wants to draw their own, bigger, profile pics or who thinks they can do a better job of the maps, I've attached the source kml files, zipped up.

Total guess, but I'm wondering Milan-San Remo? Good practice for it.

The Stage 2 time trial should be very interesting. 20km of exposed road with the Med on one side and the Etang de Thau on the other; and then up Mont St. Clair in Sete which averages 15%!
No profiles, but videos showing the last few kms of each stage here: http://www.letourmed.fr/videos.html
Hoogerland removed from the start list although no replacement confirmed yet, I'd also avoid AG2Rs Julien Berard as he appears to be riding the Tour of Qatar at the moment
Some profiles above - not very good. I've got better ones but nowhere to post them - they're too wide to go on here. You can generate your own using the kml files I posted using google earth or gpsvisualizer (I have no connection with them).
There's some profiles on steephill.tv here http://www.steephill.tv/tour-mediterraneen/
Which more or less match up with Mr F's above
Many thanks to gkam84. You can see all the profiles on one page now
If you go to look, have a browse round his blog as well. Well worth reading/watching.

My idea of the Stage 1 winner!!
Pinotti and Lodewyck shown in BMC team on pro cycling stats and cycling fever but not on start list? Also Sep van Marck just finished in Mallorca......
They also say Vichot is riding?
I checked the lists a couple of hours ago and they weren't on, plan was to do a full check tonight to pick up late changes and Vaconsoleil's replacement for Hoogerland so the list will be updated again before the race starts.
Done the full update and there's some fairly hefty changes. I was expecting a few but now there's no Renshaw, no Voigt, no Bak or Henderson, Millar, Bobridge, Vanmarcke and Astraloza to name a few of the big names.
Plus most of the smaller teams have decided to rework their teams too.
I've chucked in a few riders to each team, will be running them both as purist as I am doing Qatar, getting Oman ready to open......plus details of the Med are sketchy to see the least
Yeah, my standard team won't have many transfers made except before/after the ITT. Won't be over thinking it though, just picking on instinct.
I'm also not looking forward to scoring this, given the ToQ is an ASO race and results are patchy I can only imagine how long it'll take me to do these.
Im curious about the Volta too, looks like they may not be updating the website
Well I haven't even looked at stage 1 sprinters because the first half of the stage will drop some of the sprinters just there to test their legs

Ive gone for semi sprinters I guess you could call them, and then 4 TT guys

But even picking TT guys isn't gonna be that straight forward!

I've started a topic about that. It all seems to be on Facebook instead.

Ive seen, its more the results as much as anything I have the stage info and can get the rosters from cyclingfever etc
no pichot and malacarne says the europcar facebook page
cousin and gaudin instead
Cousin and Gaudin were in the initial list but were replaced when the latest list came out last night with Pichot and Malacarne. When was the Europcar facebook last updated?
its a message from 2 hours ago
but i don't know both cycling fever and procycling stats have pichot and malacarne listed
its like they say nothing changes as match as a woman's
mood except for a cycling start list:)
Official start list from 3rd Feb has Gaudin/Cousin but it also lists Julien Berard for AG2R who's currently in Qatar riding the ToQ so I doubt it's the most up to date. The official one is also missing the changes to BMCs roster amongst others.
Pick Pichot or not pick Pichot that is the question?
#TourMed Non-partants : Rein Taaramäe (Cofidis) et Leonardo Duque (Colombia)
Oh dear, there'll be some annoyed people over Taaramae, any idea why he's not riding?

I've started using https://twitter.com/pelotonwatch if you want sporadic updates in English.
He's decent, but at the end of the day, he's just a guy sitting watching the live feed like anyone else
True, but I'm sat at my desk at work watching nothing so it's an improvement!
