better road safety for cyclists

Totally agree with this and will pass it on.
Another worry I have cycling in the city centre is that 4-wheeled vehicles are becoming increasingly unaware of cyclists who wherever possible, will be in the cycle lanes. The absence of cyclists on the roads in places appears to be making drivers take the whole road with the nearside wheels often within the double yellow lines and leaving no space for any cyclists!

I am a keen cyclist and thoroughly agree with this petition. We need to keep the roads safe for cyclists if we are to encourage more people to cycle. It is a wonderful way to see the countryside and is a quick and efficient method of transport in towns.
