I'd go with someone like Planet-X - spend a couple of hundred quid more if you can and you'd get a fine, fine bike.

It seems the conclusion on the British Brands/imported carbon frames thread was that getting a know brand ensures build quality. And you get what you pay for.
But if £700 is what you have, perhaps some riders here might suggest other alloy frames over cheap carbon.

That looks just like the Planet X pro carbon frame actually.

And it's only 8.82kg. Bargain!

I'd want to make sure it was all put together properly.

The only person I know who's bought a bike from Argos ended up riding into a skip because the brakes didn't work. Just sayin'....

As with most things from Argos a bit of self assembly required so the riding into a skip was self inflicted. Just saying

I wondered if it was really worth the money - as it happens, I'm very happy with my winter/best bikes but it may be an option for someone who absolutely must have a carbon bike

Also, if the frame's any good, then the upgrade options might make this into quite a bargain - BTwin Triban 3, springs to mind...

Yes - test it, please! Just make sure you get the forks the right way round

Front end similar to a Planet X SL Pro but rear triangle is all wrong. Look at the thickness of those seatstays. So much for vertical compliance.

It also comes with carbon forks (?). I thought one fork would suffice for most bikes.

It has rigid suspension too. Handy.

Was £1,399, so half price. At £1,400, there is a bit more choice.

I see no difference between buying a cheap Chinese frame with a mass market groupset thrown on it from Argos to buying the same from a 'respected' online retailer!!!

I just bought one of these and all i can say is i'm impressed.
But bear in mind its my first ever road bike and i'm new to cycling
