Changing Campag Veloce Cassette

jockster, January 19, 2013

Hi

Could anyone give me a list of tools I will need to do this. I have a very limited (i.e. a multi-tool) tool kit at the moment and would like to put on a new cassette. Cheers, Simon

you'll need a cassette removal tool but that is about it.

....... and a chain whip. The chain whip stops the cassette spinning on the free wheel while you undo the lock ring with the splined cassette tool.

check out Park Tools website for loads of maintenance advice and detailed instructions

Make sure you get a Campag pattern cassette tool not a Shimano one....

I would do on a new cassette you could use the old chain to hold the cassette and save on a chain whip but if you are borrowing then the whip is better.

It is the park tool BBT-5 12 spline lockring tool or equivilent. Some grease as well.
