In-car "info-tainment"

IMAGE(http://www.automotores-rev.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/vis1.jpg)

I've just seen the Visteon e-Bee concept car which was on show at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. Apparently what drivers need are two "info-tainment" touch screens either side of the steering wheel. Is it really that much to ask that if you're driving, you're paying attention to the road?

How about a piercing alarm (or electric shock) when you get too close to a cyclist?

God forbid! that you would be concentrating on what you should be doing ie, paying attention to the road!

Would probably be illegal for some (I know it applies to PCV) UK situations - No TV screen visible to driver when vehicle in motion with 3 exceptions 1) to display speed and other information in place of normal instruments 2) to provide a vie not available through a conventional internal or external mirror 3) to visually monitor the engine or other parts of the vehicle not readily visible to the driver but for which monitoring is required. All other use of TV screens from the driving position is illegal.
