Cool.

Those little 'get me home' tricks are useful.

A fiver also does the trick. Though depends if the damage is pre or post coffee stop Wink

*stupid comment time*

I've changed my inner tube, pumped up the tyre to high pressure and carried on using my outer tyre in the past. Surely you'd need to have a hell of a slash in the tyre for it to fail whilst pedalling home?

Or simply carry a section of an old tyre with the bead removed. That way, because you have it, you know you'll never need it.

Quite often you can find that even a 1cm cut in a tyre's side wall can cause a blow out once you get as far as about 60psi. Usually in the tread of the tyre you can get away with it as there's a bit more material (unless you love skidding about on a fixie).
