Vitus 56cm Frame, Fork and Seat post.

by Graham Howell   December 2, 2012

I'm Selling off my old winter bike because I finally have to accept that at 6ft2 and 56cm frame is too small for me.

Its a 1980's Vitus 979 Dural in deep blue with chrome lug work. Unfortuately the stickers have all had to be removed. The headset (Campag Chorus) needs a bit of attention and possibly replacing but otherwise its a great light bike.

I was considering converting it to a single speed but I already have a fixie so it seem surplus to requirement.

One of the bottle cage bosses has come loose inside the frame but there is no damage to the frame its self it just needs refitting.

I can provide the bike with the right sized front mech collar and I also have down tube cable guides if you'd prefer not to use the down tube shifters it allows for.

It would make a great little project for someone who has the time and tools.

It comes with the original forks and seat post.

I've seen fully built Vitus's go for around £250 so for a frame fork set £90 seems fair.

£90 ONO.

Too big for a wee dwarf like me, but have you tried posting it on retrobike.co.uk? I had a 787 but always wanted a 979, classic frame.

Downhill bikes don't make you cool.
