Winter project SL3 now finished - Opinions and Recommendations sought.

Hi All,
Just couldn't wait to be in the depths of winter to finish my new steed.
Finished her this morning and just got back from the 'shakedown' it really rides Superb and 'smooth' compared with the 'stealth'.

SL3 Roubaix, full 7900 DA, favorite Ksyrium Elites with GP4000s's - 15lb 15oz - minus bar tape. 4

What colour tape do you recommend? - seen them with white, blue and black. I have some S-Wrap white here already, it does get filthy in no time, though not overly bothered about that really.

A piccy for your perusal.

Thanks and Regards,

Trikeman. 4 4

Ouch! I remember that now. Sorry.

Pitch is a great bike. I have a spesh FS myself (no surprise there then! although my other 2 mtb's are not Spesh but are both steel) - its a Camber Expert. Not had it long and was a snap purchase at a VERY reduced price.

I am WAY overbiked both road and mtb now but love bikes so who cares lol! 16

Glad you like the 'spesh'.

Yep - DID ride MTB's, that was until I broke my ankle in February. I have a very nice Specialized Pitch Pro, the second one of those I've had and what a cracking MTB they are.
Though still roading, my broken ankle just played on my mind and still a little 'aprehensive' about getting back up the mountains of the Mendips and Welsh centres - it's more in the head than the ankle. It would probably be OK it's just I worry about it getting all bashed up again on the rough stuff, though the round and round of the road has built the strength back up.

Seeing my foot the wrong way round frightened me a bit and don't want to see that again. 31

Looks great. Yes, its a Spesh so of course I'd say that 1

I reckon there is a long line for those wanting to sign up to be one of your mates as you clearly do a good job.

You ride mtbs as well then? What you got?

I have 3! Plus one that is a few parts short of a complete bike. (1985 Raleigh Maverick)

As long as it matches the saddle, you're fine 19

Recommendations......Start a new project, the winter has only just begun 3

Can't go wrong with black bar tape, blue is alright, but white is a nightmare to keep clean 4

Hi Gkam,
already have a few other 'winter projects' on the go, just wanted to get this one finished - now it is. As I had white spesh bar tape in the cupboard I used that and it looks OK, nice, thick and squishy (comfortable). Once that gets horrible I may go for another colour - black is favourite.
The 'garage of many bits' is up to the rafters at the moment, mostly MTB's for repairs (all mates bikes at mates rates), a couple of road bikes for 'free customers' and my own other bike projects - which reminds me, have to get back in there or I will never dig myself out of there before Xmas.

Piccy now finished with tape.

Thanks for the comments so far - no, not for winter use really, well, it will go out if it's nice, clear 'n' chilly but no salty, wet stuff.
Got mudguards on the hybrid and that's my winter bike, back and fore to Bristol on that one come rain or shine but I will try to keep this one for the summer - and nice autumn/spring days.

Regards

As in this is for winter use? Bit nice isn't it?

Go for Fizik WHITE bartape everytime, doesn't discolour.
