Tour of Beijing

by Gkam84   October 2, 2012

Just a quick heads up to Dave and to start a thread about it.

The race is from the 9th to the 13th, Not 10th to 14th as in the game Wink The distances for the stages are here http://www.tourofbeijing.net/route/2012-route/

Still not start list as of yet

Quote:
The official start list for the 2012 Tour of Beijing will be posted here in the weeks leading up to the even

Apparently all 18 UCI pro teams will be there though Thinking So going on last year, the only other team will be the Chinese National Team Nerd

Looking at the profiles its only stage 3 that might cause a few problems otherwise its a sprinters tour. As it comes in the middle of the race it'll be interesting to see if anyone wants to go for it cos they will no doubt win the tour on this stage.

Argos are not racing due to the Japan-China conflict as isnt shimano japanese? (basically its due to one of there sponsors being japanese, just presumed it was shimano, and thus rider safety and all that)

Ah right, I thought that had all settled down again now. All over a bit of rock aint it?.....Falklands anyone?

I always thought sport transcends political boundaries. But I guess not here. With half the field riding Shimano parts, which are mainly made IN CHINA Thinking

Argos is a Japanese Oil company and I believe the Japanese have been expelled/advised to leave China?

It's a shame because Degenkolb would have been a popular rider Yaah?

Ray - Argos Oil are from Holland. Shimano are from Japan but do have parts made in China and also Singapore and Malaysia. ARG also aren't a world tour team. They also have a Japanese rider and DS.

Why people think sport should be any different from any other part of life and not be political is beyond me.

Its farsical that the lists haven't been put out yet.

Its not Dave's fault by any means.
