UCI Road World Championships
Startlist chaps...

I did my team and completely forgot about Sagan
Im going with no Martin for the ITT, so maybe I will go with no Sagan for the road race
The problem with that is its not cut out the riders who are not going to be there. So for GB, its listing 14 riders.....
Where can we find the FINAL startlist for the TT?
This is the best I can find....
As a purist, can you re select your team between the TT and the road race?
I was going to ask the same question, I assume that we can as it's an unlimited transfer window between the two races but the fact that there's a 'purist World Champs' league confused me.
Looks like the Tour of Britain has done away with the 4/5 split
I'd like a shot at trying this format out in a different setting, where there are (!) lots of Star Riders. Could we try this for the World Championhsip Road Race?

Im guessing thats something that could be in the pipeline for next year maybe.
The only reason the ToB was done that way ,was there was literally 6 star riders, whereas in the Road race there is still a pretty even split between DS's and Stars
Yeah, it's a bit short notice to be rolling it out for the road race now but I would like to see it trialled for one of the other races, possibly the Lombardia or Tour of Beijing?

I would hope the answer is yes. That's how the Olympics and the GP Montreal/Quebec races worked. In the real world, the TT and the road race are treated as separate, independent one-day races with no cumulative scoring, so purists *should* be able to make transfers in between.
I hope so, seeing as I've already made my changes...
Every other unlimited window (such as the ones mid-classic season) have been fine for Purist transfers but it seemed odd having a purist league for two races with an unlimited transfer window in between.
the answer is yes
there's automatically a purists league for each comp. in this instance it'll be the same as the main league

aye, mebbe
It is a shame the 4/5 split is in place becuase I'd quite like to run a team of 5 stars for the Worlds, with the likes of Gerrans, Boonen and Leukmans all at fairly low prices I reckon you could just about squeeze 6 stars in if you were prepared to go cheap on DSs.
the main reason we changed it for the ToB was because it was a small field with very few stars; neither of those are true of the world champs

Your right, i've had a bloody headache for ages now trying to fit 6 into 4. I know the 2 i drop will come in the top 10
Stumpy
How come Slagter is not on the Road.cc startlist?
My info says he is racing
I love the way cav is playing this down saying he has no chance but there are no major climbs so I expect tim to hit the front with 50m to go. Allez sky! They have learnt their lesson from the olympics.
Cav won't be at the front with 50km to go, Expect to see him dropped with around 75km to go
Climb 5, its not hugely steep overall, but there are hard parts and its a 3km climb......Cav will be done for

Why is LL Sanchez not racing - is he injured ?
Thought he would be a cert for this type of race.
Stumpy
I don't think he's injured. But Contador, Valverde, SS, Freire and J-Rod are there. Do the Spanish need another leader/contender?
To many cooks spoil the broth and all that

I know what you mean but three of them have just kicked merry hell out of each other in the Vuelta and looking at Bertie in the TT he did not seem "in form".
Sammy looked good in the ToB but he wasn't up against much competition.
Stumpy
Here is the full and final startlist for tomorrow with numbers aswell
207 starters

So Slagter is racing, all good then
Yup, Hopefully someone will update the startlist today
Anyone watching the woman's race? Massive crash, looked like dominoes
Nope Im watching the F1 then off out, and will be out for the mens road race tomorrow, missing all the sport!
According to radio 5 the womens race is all back together with all 5 British girls still in with 3 laps to go
Stumpy
Nah not all together, the crash left quite a few behind.
I watched most of it on Eurosport while the F1 was on and then the highlights of the rest of the races on BBC1.
Interesting to note that Tony Martin was spinning a 58/11 in the TT. I used to spin a 65/80 chainrings on a recumbent, but thats a totally different thing to a road bike.
The game's been updated. 207 listed for the race....208 in the game
NO-ONE pick Spas Gyurov, he's in the startlist and shouldn't be

He has even fooled gkam. Well done sky. Go cav.
Nb. Cav isnt actually in my squad, my tips for teabags
I have a slightly biased team towards la pell de brau
Also, on the Cav subject, even if he could get all the way round the course and do the 10 laps.....He's still got to finish up the Cauberg. 1.5km with a maximum gradient of 12%. The finish is only about a mile from there. NOT going to happen for him
Yup, Hopefully someone will update the startlist today![]()
