Vuelta Stage 14

TERatcliffe26, September 1, 2012

Well I had 4 transfers for today, but bouhanni dropping out cost me...

I thought for today in the end it would better to keep viviani (could have a chance of coming last) rather than a rider not racing.

So ive decided Galdos is the guy for todays break and its in for bouhanni. Also brought in J-Rod, Contador and Nocentini

my team

J-Rod
Viviani
Valverde
Contador

Anacona
Galdos
Macrzynski
Nocentini
Talansky

Stage 14 today?

I bought in Moncoutie(maximum 23 fantasy mountain + 12 fantasy sprint pts available today if someone went 1st over all checkpoints),Capecchi(just a hunch)and Sarmiento(breakawayss)for Viviani,Degenkolb and Bouhanni.

Contador
Capecchi
Rodriguez
Moncoutie
Cesar
DeLaFuente
Sarmiento
Talansky
Marczynski

1 transfer banked....although I considered Mate for DeLaFuente.

Hoping for a very good stage

Rodriguez
Contador
Froome
Viviani
Talansky
Meersman
Bouhanni
Quintana

Only had two transfers but still considered an overhaul with some penalty transfers getting rid of Bouhanni, Meersman and Viviani but played it safe.

Rcorbin, had Bouhanni not abandonded that is how my team would have looked with bouhanni instead of Piedra. so couldnt get Heano in today, but will for tomorrow

Noted Silas and amended, think i must have just lost the plot this morning

I hope I can continue with the turnaround in form yesterday getting 18th on the stage and up to 330th overall and 128th premium, which shows you the level of mediocrity so far!!

Roche(for Degenkolb
DeGendt
Contador
Froome
Clarke
Talansky
Astarloza
Aramendia(for Terpstra)
?????(for Bodnar)-could be any of Anacona,Mate,Txurruka or Machado

I had to drop Bouhanni too. Was hoping to leave him in as he's a shoe in for last place. Didn't realise we had such similar teams

Why has the transfer window closed? I thought the deadline was 12:20. Surprise

It's showing 55mins to go on mine - it's only 11:25?

weird. still open on mine and it really is 12:38 here... you appear to be in your very own time zone

You're not the only one - livestrongnick seems to show the same, and, come to that, the timestamp on my last was a minute or so different from my local machine time so it's presumably using server time not local time.

Local time shouldn't affect the server anyway which I would assume sets the transfer deadline. I wonder if one of the game and/or forum servers has the wrong time/timezone?

Living in the future is quite cool, but is there a way to fix this so I can make my transfers for today?

posted by Wig_Billy [451 posts] 1st September 2012 - 12:54

I'm way off the pace so have two of the top guys and seven for a potential breakaway. Could be a disastrous day, or could be quite fun - we'll see...

Valverde
Rodriguez
De Gendt
Moncoutie
Bouet
Machado
Astarloza
Sarmiento
De La Fuente

Make or break for Froome today - he looks tired to me but I hope there's something left...

I'm just going to post my transfers here and hope it can be fixed later.

Degenkolb -> Moncoutie
Viviani -> Jeannesson
Meersman -> De La Fuente

Leaving me with;

J-Rod
Contador
Moncoutie
Jeannesson
Marczynski
Talansky
R.Kreder
De La Fuente
Bouhanni

BTW, those 3 definitely won't be in the break... Devil

Christopher Froome
Joaquin Rodriguez
Laurens ten Dam
Winner Andrew Anacona (for Moreno)
Xavier Florencio (for Bouhanni)

Thank you roadcc for setting up this game, although I only joined late I am enjoying playing very much. I will fully admit I am totally rubbish at it however I am learning. I am really looking forward to competing for a full season.
Yesterday was not a good stage for me 45points and like many I had Bouhanni who was a lucky pick for me when I started.
Today it is looking better.
Today's team for me is as follows
Christopher Froome
Joaquin Rodriguez
Alejandro Valverde
Nicolas Roche
Mikel Astarloza
Javier Moreno
Aitor Galdos
Simon Clarke

I don't think its anything to do with our equipment. Its the host system/server which is the problem as I've tried on the various computers/tablets and phone's in the house.

Dave might just need to give the server a kick and restart it Nerd

1,2,5,6,9 plus Clark stage
1,2,3,8,gc
1,2,4 hills overall

1,2,4,5 in overall points

However as it is a summit finish I assume there are no mountain points.

1,2,3,6,9,20 + Clarke. Not too bad a day. Around 50th in premium Vuelta after a week in Normandy, sitting next to a wall to get wireless from next door on my iPhone,(both gites owned by the same owner - nothing dubious). Bit easier now I'm home but didn't lose too much position on GC (the overall - 15th, maybe 14th today). Nice to see the race live though. I like Purito - I hope he wins it. [Good holiday as well!!]

There seemed to be some server and timestamp issues during the stage yesterday which led to the 'timewarp' jokes so I'm guessing that(and the fact that even admins have to sleep)may have something to do with it.

Unless they're totalling up the points for Lars Boom in the 'Invisible' Jersey competition Wink

It's kind of cool to assess your position in the overall competition before you pick your transfers, just because depending how much you trail by you might make risky or safer choices...

I don't think they've ever taken this long! Sad

But... I guess they can't be slaves to the game! Sad
