Is it true that Ivan Basso refused to eat peas, because they are too fat? (http://www.dailypeloton.com/displayarticle.asp?pk=9639).
Any record of him saying this?
I'm not planning on following that diet, but I think it is a great trivia and want to know if I can repeat it in good faith.
Cheers

Looks like I won't be repeating that story then
I like it!
Seems like a serious article; but peas? Seriously?? I love peas!!! Just reading that article has made me feel hungry. But; dinner....with or without peas
Here's Basso, quoted in a Gazzetta dello Sport article: "The fight with weight is an eternal one. The best thing is a healthy and balanced diet. The Mediterranean diet is perfect, while I am against extremely strict ones."
Same article quotes Contador's new-found avoidance of red meat
Mind you, I've met him a couple of times, shorter than you'd expect and much thinner than he looks on the TV.
He's going to get a shock at the Tour of Britain with our food unless Liquigas bring their own chef...
