Vuelta Young Riders?
On going to stages it says young riders are being scored but there's no competition for it in the Vuelta(they do an all-round competition scoring points position+Climbers position.
Can we get clarification before the Vuelta what will be scored as I got seriously caught out for the Eneco?
Last year there was also no young rider competition, just the GC, Points, KoM and all-around.
I can't remember if the all-around was scored in the fantasy game last year but it's kind of pointless as it just reflects the GC towards the end.
Is it not possible for road.cc to score their own young rider competition? As long as you have a list of those qualifying it shouldn't be great deal of extra work or delay as you're already having to wait for the individual standings to be released.
That was my argument for the Eneco.
If not then the scoring criteria needs changing on the site.
Agreed, it needs to be clear before people start picking teams as it can have an affect on teams, particularly purist teams who can't then change later on.
Any clarification on this?

Agreed - the scoring criteria still says there will be points for young rider competition, but apparently there isn't an official one. This got a few people's backs up (and rightly so) in the Eneco. It would certainly affect my purist team - someone like Quintana could feasibly pick up an extra 4-5 points per day for a couple of weeks if there are young rider points. So clarification would be great, ta.

Hi people - it's being discussed at the moment, definitive answer later, but you might want to assume there won't be a young rider's competition and pick your team accordingly.
In that case will there be points for the all round jersey then?
Official statement from Fantasy Cycling HQ: We've stroked our beards and thumbed through the dusty Fantasy Cycling rulebook and have concluded...there will be no Young Riders competition in the Fantasy Vuelta game.
As there is no Young Rider jersey being contested in the actual Vuelta we have also removed it from the game. Sorry for any confusion caused, hope this gives everyone enough time to tinker with their starting line-up.

No, not this time, just the scoring criteria listed on the 'Stages' page. Probably something we'll consider for next yr though
