British Cycling......Should they keep things internal?

First was Wendy Houvenaghel with her little outburst and now Shane Sutton has come out and said that Geraint Thomas should quit track cycling and concentrate on his road career.

Quote:

Sutton had criticised the 25-year-old Welshman for opting not to ride in the Tour de France this year to prepare for track events at London 2012.

Thomas was part of the men's pursuit four that broke their own world record as they defended their Olympic title.

"I don't think Geraint needs to come back now [to the track]," Sutton said.

"That's it for him as far as I can see. Because of his age there's so much more for him to achieve out there on the road, I think he should go out there and pursue that."

I think he is probably right. GT is a class rider and if he stays on the track rather than the road i can see Sky binning him.

Why pay his wages when he is not performing for them ?
