M5 Ligfietsen Brakes

by bencolem   July 26, 2012

Super light brakes and beautiful German engineering.

Came top in April 2012 `TOUR` magazine of all the best lightweight brake sets.

Only 191g for brakes and shoes!

Very rare and well over £350 new.

Sold complete (i.e. with all spare parts and tools not pictured - barrel adjusters, different length threads and bosses etc.)

Barely used - my local bike shop thought that they were new!

£200 posted.

"ligfietsen" to me is dutch (meaning "lie bikes", i.e. recumbents), and the website suggests they're a dutch company. The dutch don't always like to be confused for germans... Wink

M5 do specialize in recumbents, i've had a few of their bits in the past on various recumbents

They are Dutch Wink

Angry they are Dutch and not German - honestly, I'd never realised this and always thought they were German! In that case, these are definitely not a case of beautiful German engineering! I stand corrected - you do indeed learn something new every day!
