TDF Prologue
I'll be the first to name my team then:
Cancellara
Sagan
EBH
Kessiakoff
Impey
Lancaster
Urtasun
Cantwell
Boeckmans
Mine is fairly predictable - mainly TT with a couple of cheap guys that I'm planning to keep in for the first few days at least...
Sagan (a given)
Cancellara (in for Brad at the last minute)
Chavanel (I just really like him. TTing is much-improved)
Rogers (needed his cheapness in order to afford...)
Zabriskie
Grivko (could've gone Larsson but thought I'd be different)
Engoulvent (Can be good in prologues, and could be OK for first few stages)
Julien Simon (Cheap - could be a good dark horse for the first week or could do nothing)
Burghardt (Just fancied a punt on him, he seems to like attacking if BMC let him)
Still fancy Wiggins to win today, very excited about his prospects for the podium...
Looking for a good start with this lot......
Wiggins
Cancellara
Rogers
Hunter
Larsson
Zabriskie
Engoulvent
Gretsch
Grabsch
Wiggins
Cancellara
Sagan
Rogers
Zabriskie
Engoulvent
Simon
Izagirre
Bernaudeau
Until late last night I'd settled on having Chavanel for Cancellara and more TTing DSs but changed my mind, hopefully Spartacus will do the business today.
Geraint Thomas would have been great for this!!
I wanted Wiggins, Sagan and cancellara three, but couldn't fit them in my team and still have who else I wanted
Bernaudeau is popular then
Spartacus would look great in yellow and it would distinguish him as different to the rest of the Shack/Nissan rabble.
Could use his classics knowhow to go quite a few days as race leader....in fact whoever leads the race today has a good chance of keeping it for a while if their team 'mark' Gilbert.
Today and Tomorrow are the only day's i'm going to be able to watch live. So i'm going purist. I just had my team published below, but made a couple of changes with 11 minutes to go
Team picked - over to you, Fabian & Peter - do me proud please!
Everyone seems to be going quite TT heavy! im gonna loose out today then as my team is set up with tomorrow in mind, especially with my stars
Wiggins
Sagan
Gerrans
LL Sanchez
Larsson
Simon
Zabriske
Lancaster
Edet
Wiggins and Larsson to come out tonight
Looking for a good start with this lot......Wiggins
Cancellara
Rogers
Hunter
Larsson
Zabriskie
Engoulvent
Gretsch
Grabsch
You could get the stage win! although not sure how that will fair tomorrow, which is why i avoided gretsch and grabsch

That was part of the reason I decided in the end to not pick too many TTing DSs, it'd take too long to get them out of my team. So I decided to splash out on expensive stars.

Even if they're in yellow?
Fabian Cancellara (RSN)
Levi Leipheimer (OPQ)
Thomas Danielson (GRM)
Juan Jose Haedo (SAX)
Lieuwe Westra (VCD)
Lars Bak (LOT)
David Zabriskie (GRM)
Gustav Erik Larsson (VCD)
Giampaolo Caruso (KAT)
Here is mine, not much thought. Sagan in tommorrow plus one other then Cav for rest of week till the two lumpy stages. No Wiggo till TT, then probably out because I think he might not win any stages except TTs and still win the tour.Hesjedal will make an appearance in team at dome point plus Hoog, Sorensen and any form DS
Best of luck one...and....all
Fabian Cancellara
Peter Sagan
Bradley Wiggins
Robert Hunter
Julien Simon
Gustav Erik Larsson
Anders Lund
David Zabriskie
Gorka Izagirre
Bring in on.

Yup as i think both of the guys i will be bringing in could top 5 and thus negate the points for being in yellow
However im now starting to regret my choices as gerrans is off the pace and i replaced grivko with lancaster, that will be a mistake it seems
As i said, I'm playing purist, so had to think ahead, but still got a decent team for the prologue I HOPE
Bradley Wiggins (SKY)
Fabian Cancellara (RSN)
Luis Leon Sanchez (RAB)
Peter Sagan (LIQ)
Andriy Grivko (AST)
Giovanni Bernaudeau (EUC)
Mikel Astarloza (EUS)
Gorka Izagirre (EUS)
Kris Boeckmans (VCD)
Ok scratch what i said before, as Lancaster goes quickest
Happy with EBH and Lancaster so far
Not so much Kessiakoff(out for Gerrans or Freire tonight)
I'm watching live, decent coverage, but for anyone who cannot catch the race live on certain days. I HAVE to recommend the official tracker app, loving it to go along with the live coverage
Cav goes faster than Larsson
I've got a couple of ideas of how this may change tomorrow, but for today...
Cancellara
Sagan
Gerrans
Chavanel
Westra
Grivko
Zabriskie
Vichot
G Izaguirre
Chose Grivko over Larsson, and got Chavanel. Also chose Zabriskie over Lancaster, so lets see if Captain America will prove me right... Going OK so far!
Nope - Zabriskie 51st. Nev'mind! I'm a bit worried about Phil Liggett - he's really struggling to keep up...
Boo, poor from Zabriskie which is disappointing and I nearly picked Chavanel, happy that Martin didn't put in a great time. Wiggins seems off the pace
well Im not gonna score well but great ride by Wiggins over the 2nd half
1st and 2nd but not much else, Sagan was a poor choice, just need to decide who to ditch for Gilbert and work out how long Cancellara will hold the yellow.
Cancellara
Wiggo
Chavanel
Van Garderan
EBH
Lancaster
Gretsch
Menchov
Gilbert
Grivko
Froome
Velits
Evans
Nibali
Hesjedal
Millar
Cummings
Voigt
Kloden
Nuyens
I wouldn't say Sagan was a poor choice - he was a good choice who had a bad day, but could easily make up for it over the next few days.
My plan was to ditch Grivko and Zabriskie, so I'll probably still do that, although it means no Gilbert for tomorrow
Got top 9
surely at least 5 are 'star' riders?!?

So pedantic.
I got the top 10...
I guess you're right, Sagan should come good.
With a view to having a lie-in tomorrow I've already made my transfers, hoping for a good day tomorrow although I can't watch it
Well I would say I did average, should have a decent haul in the halfords game, doubt i'm going to win their bike for stage one......not that i'd keep it
Tonight i'll have to get all my shizz packed up for moving on Monday, else i'm not getting to watch tomorrow where my man Sagan will be spoiling anything Gilbert will attempt

Got 3 of the same stars and 3 of the DSs. Might bring in LLSanchez tonight, defo take out Larsson, not quite his thing it seems. Sagan I was hoping for at least top 10 but he is young!! Not sure what will happen tomorrow, but looking forward to it.
Dave, I think you've missed the green jersey standings, Cancellara should have scored 50, not 45. I've checked letour.fr and they're showing points comp standings.

no, just still bitter at Tony Martin's puncture!

Don't think it was a puncture, looked like a chain problem (pedanticism)
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!
Wow. Not bragging (way more luck that skill involved), but...
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!
164 points. Like Spartacus, currently leading the TdF. Don't panic, it won't last.

Jammy bugger and you've won the Bryton Rider 50 GPS
Nice prize coming north of the border
Disappointing day... punctured on my ride today & =441 in TdF Prologue
Congrats Aimless King
Here's hoping for better tomorrow... (now where is that smiley with fingers crossed...?)
OUT:Lancaster/Kessiakoff
IN:Cooke/Freire
Didn't really want to take Lancaster out but have had a feeling with Cooke for this stage(this week even)and cost plus team meant it had to be Brett that came out.
Team:
Spartacus
Sagan
EBH
Freire
Impey
Boeckmans
Urtasun
Cantwell
Cooke
Dave, not sure my points for yesterday are, were green jersey points awarded?
Dave, not sure my points for yesterday are, were green jersey points awarded?
no. only yellow jersey and white jersey
Thanks Dave, clearly just didn't read the scoring page well enough. Weren't green jersey points awarded in previous years?

Dont think have been awarded whenever a time trail/prologue opens the race (whatever the race may be)
