Halfords Fantasy Comp.

Halfords are again running their fantasy comp. this year. So you can legally run 2 teams without Dave getting wound up 4

Does anyone understand their rules about TT's? From what I've read, your riders score no points in time trials. That doesn't make any sense though? And what about the Prologue - does that count as a TT?

If you're new please join in and if you have questions pop them below and the forum regulars will answer as best we can.

Me too - picked a prologue team, will probably make 5-6 changes on Sat night and then leave it for a week, assuming I've understood the transfer rules correctly...

Pretty much my plan

Right I have created one, its just called Road.cc

dont know if the password is set or not, but if it is it should just be road.cc

Just added my team to the 'league application queue', is there a prize for the best 'league of leagues'?

The two competitions cater for two different audiences Road cc bless its CoolMax socks caters for us velophiles Halfords in contrast caters for those who do not know or care about the difference between a chainring and Qrings.
Disregarding any problems with the actual site. If the halfords game bringings more people to the joys of cycling and gets them on bikes I'm all for it. At the end of the day the more people that cycle the better it will be for all of us.

Why is TERatcliffe26 ranked 99999th?

How long does it take to join the league after it says you've joined?

Are you doing road.cc and not roadcc? Should be league name road.cc, and leave password blank. Took me three goes with different combinations! (My team is les flames rouge by the way - was running low on inspiration...)

the interesting thing about the Halfords game is that the "spending power" as manager seems to be overly generous. This might initially make you think that the game will be easier. But it could make the game much harder as everyone will be able to buy the top riders.

anyone else have a view on that?

I agree, it's going to be incremental gains really if everyone's got the main men. It's also really weird how they done rider values, people like Bozic, Kittel, Rojas and Gallopin and Scarponi are amongst the cheapest riders in the game but are much more expensive in the road.cc game and rightly so. Picking out the cheap superstar will be a solid tactic for the lumpy stages.

anyone got any good ideas on which stage to pick as your "bonus stage". I've currently gone for stage 17 but I think I've called that wrong(?)

Depends on which you think will be the most predictable and picked by the fewest number of other players if you're after a stage win. I've gone for the first sprint stage as I reckon alot of people will keep their stage 1 riders in for stage 3 before swapping in sprinters for 4, 5 and 6.

TTs and summit finishes may do well if you think you can pick the right guys and plan well to get them in with the transfers you have. Given that points are only finish line and for holding the yellow/green jersey you don't need to worry so much about breakaways.

I have joined Halfords Mini League too. Team is letsgoup2. Hope I don't get black balled... 4

Re Bonus Stage - I went for the last TT, as I find them easier to call and it should be clear by then who's on form. Plus simple maths - there will be less riders in the race by then!
