Pretty much my plan
Myself and a few guys from work have.
Just added my team to the 'league application queue', is there a prize for the best 'league of leagues'?
i'll drum up some socks for the winner of our league, eh
The two competitions cater for two different audiences Road cc bless its CoolMax socks caters for us velophiles Halfords in contrast caters for those who do not know or care about the difference between a chainring and Qrings.
Disregarding any problems with the actual site. If the halfords game bringings more people to the joys of cycling and gets them on bikes I'm all for it. At the end of the day the more people that cycle the better it will be for all of us.
i can't seem to join the roadcc league. oh god....
whuich league you trying to join? road.cc?
you dont need a password, what is your team name?
I've made my double stage for Stage 3, with Greenedge as my team.
Got:
Gerrans
Wiggins
Cancellara
Boassen Hagen
Hoogerland
Goss
Chavanel
T Martin
Valverde
Why is TERatcliffe26 ranked 99999th?
How long does it take to join the league after it says you've joined?
ter - my team name is pangbourne pedallers. same as on roadcc FC.
Ahh right i see, not sure i remember accepting that name and dont know why it wont let you in
Think everyone will appear at some point today
thos that have been accepted and appeared are
WSR
Geordie Roadies
The Manx Missiles
SODASPORT
Gosforth Granny Rings
STEVE SPRO 79
Les flames rouge
Mostly Hopeless
TERatcliffe26
TER
when I enter the league name and password, I get this message
"The league name / password are incorrect, please try again."
I wonder if Dave can assist?
you leave me out of this. i got troubles of my own
Are you doing road.cc and not roadcc? Should be league name road.cc, and leave password blank. Took me three goes with different combinations! (My team is les flames rouge by the way - was running low on inspiration...)
thanks Chris! mystery resolved.....
TER - I joined your league
NB. Flammes Rouges (not rouge)
Please
Oh yeah - double m - who knew?! (Answer - everyone except me - d'oh...)
ok, loopy tunes has joined the road.cc league. . . hoping to win stage 1, and then forget about it
Right, I've joined in, just so you have someone propping you all up at the bottom of the table.
I've loaded my team for the Prologue, then we'll see how bad it gets
So, is this your team TER?
The security/privacy on the halfords games is 'different'.
Bradley Wiggins,
9.0
Cadel Evans,
10.0
Peter Sagan,
6.5
Gustav Larsson,
3.0
Tony Martin,
5.0
Fabian Cancellara,
5.0
Fredrik Kessiakoff,
3.5
Simon Gerrans,
7.0
David Zabriskie,
Erm yep that is my team
crumbs. mine is almost identical.
the interesting thing about the Halfords game is that the "spending power" as manager seems to be overly generous. This might initially make you think that the game will be easier. But it could make the game much harder as everyone will be able to buy the top riders.
anyone else have a view on that?
I agree, it's going to be incremental gains really if everyone's got the main men. It's also really weird how they done rider values, people like Bozic, Kittel, Rojas and Gallopin and Scarponi are amongst the cheapest riders in the game but are much more expensive in the road.cc game and rightly so. Picking out the cheap superstar will be a solid tactic for the lumpy stages.
anyone got any good ideas on which stage to pick as your "bonus stage". I've currently gone for stage 17 but I think I've called that wrong(?)
Final team:
Wiggins
Evans
Sagan
Cancellara
Martin (T)
Larsson
Zabriskie
Gilbert
Chavanel
Liquigas and Stage 2.
Depends on which you think will be the most predictable and picked by the fewest number of other players if you're after a stage win. I've gone for the first sprint stage as I reckon alot of people will keep their stage 1 riders in for stage 3 before swapping in sprinters for 4, 5 and 6.
TTs and summit finishes may do well if you think you can pick the right guys and plan well to get them in with the transfers you have. Given that points are only finish line and for holding the yellow/green jersey you don't need to worry so much about breakaways.
I have joined Halfords Mini League too. Team is letsgoup2. Hope I don't get black balled...
Re Bonus Stage - I went for the last TT, as I find them easier to call and it should be clear by then who's on form. Plus simple maths - there will be less riders in the race by then!
