I would choose E because I always pass cyclists on their right...
The BMW driver would execute two of these - D then C. Anything else would be seen as a slight on their masculinity and social standing.
Taxi and small van drivers wouldn't be aware that there could be an alternative to C. The taxi pilot would make a mental note of how close they passed the cyclist to impress their colleagues.
Is E reserved for Addison Lee drivers?
