Pictures of your Bike

by Raleigh   May 30, 2012

So, I figured that no bicycle forum would be complete without pictures of bikes! Post your photos here, no bike will be refused: Road TT Triathlon Cyclocross MTB BMX Shixie Fixie And anything else! Lovely bikes lovely, but everyday bikes interesting too. I won't post first, but I'm taking pictures right now. Smile I wanna see what bikes you're all riding!

Is that a Canyon VCLS seatpost?
How do you find it? Thinking about one to smooth out the cratered tarmac of Cambridgeshire (and Essex and Hertfordshire). Vibration is one thing but getting nearly thrown off is another!

Yes, it's brilliant.

I've had about 5 seatpost over the last couple of years, original alu ones, upgraded cheapo carbon, vcls 1 and now vcls2.

Vcls1 was great but I got a cracking deal on the 2 and upgraded. It is brill.

Important milestone in Son's Chinarello Maddog's life - she has just 'officially' covered 10,000 miles without any major hitch. Yep, she's had tyres, brakes and chains in that time but as promised (a couple of years ago) here is a photo. It did Morzine run this summer and still rides like a dream. Son will never sell it and has commented that he will ride it until it falls apart - it's not happened yet and for the initial cost of the build that is an important milestone, 0.083p per enjoyable mile. Big Grin

My recently purchased Rossin road bike, believed to be circa 1980, the original downtube gear control is now in the levers with Campy Chorus gear set. Likely to be using this in the summer/dry, currently using my new Forme Calver CX sport, great for commuting.

My Cannondale Synapse 2013 (I think!) 61cm frame that carried me wonderfully with no punctures, problems or mechanicals during all the training for and during LEJOG this summer. Triple chainset on it that was needed inCornwall.

Then, after riding over my dropped water bottle, 5 miles from home a couple of weeks ago, a spoke broke!

I've also out in my Trek 7.3FX hybrid that I use for commuting. 25inch frame for my 6ft 4 self. A good bike, fairly quick but not as good as the Synapse!

My honest little Trek 1.1 - first road bike!

Started cycling this year following rehab for a broken wrist (no contact sport allowed) and this thing has taken me a good couple of thousand miles so far.

Changed out the saddle (I know, rules - the only one I really pay attention to is Rule V) for a bargain cut-out number from PlanetX, there's a saddlebag, and an ass-saver. That's about it really!

Pic taken at the weekend at Threipmuir Reservoir on a 100km loop around Edinburgh.

The 810 is great if you want to use the maps feature properly, the 510 good for everything else but that. Or you could go for the middle ground - the (older) 800 has basically the same functionality as the 810 but without the ability to upload through your phone. Check the mode though - Garmin has introduced some 800 models with no ANT sensors for cadence and HR - you don't want that!

Here is my best bike. I think it looks kinda neat. Frame is a Kuota Kharma fitted with Ultegra and RS80 C50 wheels. Rubber is Conti GP 4000S. Saddle is Fizik Arione, naturally. Bars and stem are Easton EC70 and EA90.
Yes I know the black red and white colour scheme might be a bit overdone but I don't care when it's this well done.

My 1967 Sun Mass Start. Stripped it down and rebuilt it this summer after it had been sitting in the shed for years. It rides really nicely! Also, the mismatching cable outers have now been changed, so don't fret!

And the other is my 2012 Fuji Nevada 2.0. Several bits have since been changed, and it's also had a wash... Big Grin
