Golas takes it anyway with Rod second and the rest rolling across not bothering to fight it out
62.5km to go 3.55 gap
50km to go 5.30 of a gap
They letting the break win?
40km to go 6.30 gap.
Sandy Casar leader on the road be about 2.30
40km to go 6.30 gap
Well if you have someone in the break today, you could be getting some decent points, otherwise your screwed
39km 7 minute's gap
If it does stay away, i NEED J-not-Rod to win as he'll get me 10 points having 2 of his team mates
I've got Eurosport on, but also watching a ticker and reporting back here. Just had a good chuckle reading this
Can't see the break winning by enough for Casar to take pink, I reckon Kataush and Liquigas will pull it back to around 1 and half minutes by the end, just enough to keep it in check.
I think Katusha would like the break to have around 4.20 when they cross the line, It would take the pink of their shoulders while leaving J-Rod just seconds back from Casar and mean their team doesn't have to do all the work if J-Rod wants to win the GC overall, He needs to lose the pink at some point to help his team to help him out later in the race
Golas gets 9 points for the Cat 2 climb, over the top unchallenged and is offSKI on his own
Maximum KoM points and solo breakaway win?! This could turn out to be an excellent day
The only thing that could improve it is Cavedish going after the minor sprint placings!
15km, 5.05 to Golas. The rest of the break are around 30 seconds behind
I think you have more chance of Cav taking last place for 10 points, He's not going to be in the pack
Maybe Golas will not be getting max KoM today, He's just about to be caught 3km from the last summit and he looks like he's struggling
Indeed sir! Thanks for the discussion on the thread I posted about the breakaway today. Especially big thanks to Alan for making the suggestion of Golas.
Team:
Cavendish
Inxtausti
Rodriguez
Hesjerdal
Tiralongo
Rubiano
Demare
Caruso
Golas
Yup, Golas is cooked, they breeze past him and he's gone out the back now.
Then Casar knocks the pace off and Golas gets back in.
They are all attacking each other over and over. 12.5km to go, gap is 4.30
Just around where Katusha would like it (if i was their director)
No last KoM points for Golas, Now to see who can keep their head on the way down. 11.5km to go. 4.13 the gap
The REAL J-Rod might just keep the pink, but i have a feeling he'd let it slip if he could
Tiralongo and Cunego jump out the front to get some seconds
Casar might not be in pink at the end of the day after all
C'mon Santaromita! (at least I'll get 5 points from Frank).
I need J-Rod the 2nd of Androni to win for an extra 10 points
Lars Bak finally wins a stage after his efforts in Denmark at the start of the tour
Bak
Casar
Amador
Bakelants
Santaromita
Rodriguez
Txurruka
Keizer
Golas
Flecha
Visconti
Hermans
Lagutin
Barta
Pauwels
Thats your stage top 15. I don't think i'll be getting any top 20 points, going to have to rely on GC and other jersey points
9th & 19th for me.
Wow another rubbish day, if i break 20 points I will be lucky
GC now looks like this
J-Rod
Hesjedal
Casar
Tiralongo
Santaromita
Kreuziger
Intxausti
Basso
Might manage 70 today, 25ish for Golas, 4 for Rubiano and a 30 something GC/Jersey points elsewhere should keep me in the hunt.
Who's 16-20??
I was hoping for GC points but with some of this mornings GC dropping out of the top 10 i'm screwed
16. VERMOTE Julien
17. BRANDLE Matthias
18. BENEDETTI Cesare
19. HESJEDAL Ryder
20. DE GENDT Thomas

Shame, had Casar in mind (as I'm sure many did) but convinced myself he'd be more likely to try next week once he was further behind overall. And he was just a bit too expensive. Still - Barta comes 14th! And so averages 1 point per day that I've had him in my team. I knew he had it in him!
