OK, on the grounds of 'in for a penny' I bought 4 tickets for the 'Orbit' Olympic sculpture today. They know I've got undelivered tickets because these are shown in my account. But that didn't stop me being rushed another six quid for the delivery of these 4 additional bits of paper.
This what your six quid buys...notified by email ON THE DAY OF DELIVERY and I'll need to be in to sign for them. For Pete's sake!
"Your tickets will be sent using Royal Mail‘s Tracked® delivery service.
You will receive a notification by email and/or SMS (if you have provided your mobile number) from Royal Mail on the day your tickets are due to be delivered.
Someone will need to be there to sign for your tickets. If nobody is there, Royal Mail will leave a 'Something for you’ card. You will also be notified of the delivery attempt by email and/or SMS. Your ticket package will be returned to your local Royal Mail delivery office and held securely for 18 days."
OK, I ended buying tickets for the basketball yesterday. However, if I thought the £6 postage (for 4 tickets) was going to guarantee next day delivery, I was wrong. Six quid!
So annoying, got through to the loading screen with my dad a few times, but then got the "no tickets found" message.
Will probably spend the money on a massive TV instead.
That's the spirit! If I didn't have a family of expectant but futile dependents I would be tempted to do the same. I just found myself thinking about buying hockey tickets. For Pete's sake!
Road race tickets come up on Thursday but I'm not sure I'll bother, box-hill will be a nightmare to get to anyway but driving down from Leeds... well, it's not worth it, will just have to watch on TV.
2 hours yesterday fruitless search for Althletics. 1.5 hours this morning with no luck on cycling. The most user-unfriendly service I've used for anything. As you say, having to empty the basket of the tickets you'd just been told there were none of...And I tried ordering 1 of each of the price bands which were shown as 'available' also with no success so I'm not sure what that meant.
I can't get them because I didn't apply I the 1st ballot... so I have to wait until they open up to everyone on the 23rd.
I hope they don't have the ticket problems for box hill tickets though...
I've been battling away and have given up...
The pain is once you get refused you need to remove the tickets out the basket and then start again. They needed to show what was available, but its ticket master and they are notoriously rubbish.
My problem is I'm trying to buy 4 tickets (the family). I bet there are £40 tickets, but only singles.
Same here, at first it showed loads of available tickets only to refuse me any once I got through to the 'request' stage.
An awful site and an awful and frustrating set up. If it was clear from the start which tickets were available I'd have gone for those rather than wasting my time on tickets that they didn't have. The 'captcha' system they're using also doesn't help as it refuses to load in IE8 at work!
I'm massively pissed off with how the ticket sales have been done, from the first stage to the last it's been really frustratiing trying to buy any and the majority of people who know what they want and have targeted specific events will have missed out while those who had loads of money spare and were prepared to go for thousands of pounds worth of tickets have got all the tickets.
